Chocolate is always better with Johnny Depp!!!
20 July 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I went to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory this weekend with great expectations. All of my expectations were met and then some. The movie was delightful just like Willy Wonka's candy!! Johnny Depp did an amazing job as Willy Wonka. He was just so funny with his child like humor.

He made my children and I laugh from the moment he was first on screen. For those of you who want to know the difference from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory versus Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory I do have a few things to say. First, I watched Willy Wonka when I was a kid although I did like it and am still a fan of it today, I was always a bit scared during the film. Especially with that tunnel scene!! I was unsure if Tim Burton would bring some of that darkness to Charlie and the Chocolate factory, since he his known for making some dark films. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was dark in no way and is a great movie for all ages.

Secondly, I always thought Gene Wilder played a mean Willy Wonka up until the end when he offers Charlie the chocolate factory. Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka was just plain funny, as I have already mentioned. In my opinion there was no darkness in Willy Wonka with Johnny playing him. Which I loved and thought made the movie way more enjoyable!! On Charlie and the Chocolate Factory you will learn more about the story and the characters. Plus, you will get to see the Oompa Loompa's of today and their more modern songs. This movie is definitely a must see for everyone. I promise you will not be disappointed!! My kids and I loved it so much we saw it again yesterday. It was just as great the second time around.

Miss Match (2003)
Miss Match is a great show!!
15 May 2004
Miss Match is a humorous, dramatic, relatable and all around likeable show. If you haven't seen the episodes that aired from September to December you have definetely missed out. Miss Match is the story of Kate Fox (played by Alicia Silverstone) a young divorce attorney who moonlights as a match maker. She practices law at her father's(played by Ryan O'Neil) law office. Kate and her fellow divorce lawyer, Nick (played by James Roday)bump heads and are always differ on opinions on cases they work on. Kate is best friends with Victoria, (played by Lake Bell) a bartender. Then, there's Michael,(played by David Conrad) the guy who Kate may or may not end up with. Every episode Kate is asked by different individuals, all in different situations to match themselves or someone close to them with a suitable partner. A few examples are: A woman asks Kate to find a match for her fiancee' to make sure that he really does want to get married to her, since she is the only woman he has ever dated. A mother asks Kate to find a match for her daughter who is gay. A woman from India asks Kate to find a match for her according to her astrological sign before she is forced to have an arranged marriage by her parents. Plus, we have the ups and downs of Kate's personal relationships with men, her parents, her clients, her coworkers and friends. The title song of Miss Match is nicely sung by Macy Gray. All in all this show is a must see on NBC!! Unfortunately not enough people have tuned in to see Miss Match. It has not been on the air since December.

It has not been officially cancelled but there is no return date scheduled at this time. Hopefully, NBC will bring it back this summer with the remainder episodes and new episodes in the fall. If you haven's seen Miss Match please give it a chance. If you liked Alicia Silverstone in Clueless, you will love this!!

Jennifer and Matthew shine in The Wedding Planner.
27 January 2001
I just saw The Wedding Planner and have to say I absolutely loved it. I left the theater smiling from ear to ear with tears in my eyes. That's just what the movie does to you. Jennifer Lopez was delightful. She was so funny. She plays Mary, a very organized wedding planner. When you see the movie you'll see what I mean. I think it was a very refreshing change for Jennifer. It just goes to show that she's very versatile. Matthew McConaughey comes back from a small vacation in full force. He literally cracked me up. He plays Steve, a life-saving pediatrician. Put the two together and you have a great, fun loving movie. I definetely recommend this film for everyone. I took my daughter to see it with me. She usually gets bored after thirty minutes but actually sat through the entire movie. We both left the theater loving The Wedding Planner and you will too. It's a laugh out loud romantic comedy. So, go on out and see it, you won't regret it.
