A Riot.

I really hope that Concorde/New Horizons wasn't trying to make a serious horror, or even action movie when they made Carnosaur 3. The movie is flat-out silly from start to finish. Even the humor in C3 is funny because it's bad. Definitely a high water mark in the 'So Bad it's Good' genre. If you enjoy the very worst of the worst, this is for you.

The Darkest Dinosaur Movie I've Ever Seen
30 July 2002
Carnosaur definitely takes the top spot of the dark and unusual dinosaur movies. The almost noir atmosphere of this movie really makes it creepy, at least until the dinosaurs show themselves. Unfortunately, the spooky air of this movie looses its feel when the rubber puppet dinosaurs show up. Sad to say, the Velociraptor dinosaur in this movie is only a step above a Muppet, and the Tyrannosaurus is only slightly better. However, I still enjoyed the movie for the ham and cheese it is. Dianne Ladd really takes her mad scientist role to interesting places in this movie. The excessive gore I could've done without, but it doesn't detract too much from the film overall. A great 'bad' movie that true b-movie fans shouldn't miss.

Definitely Different
28 July 2002
This movie was certainly a unique take on the Twister theme. My question was; How did Kelly McGillis end up in no-budget, made for TV silliness. I could've expected her in a Lifetime Movie of the Week, but this seemed way off target for her. Admittedly, she did do a good job for the role she was given. Along those lines, it was a bit surprising and somewhat funny to see James MacArthur (Danno from Hawaii Five-0) in this movie. The movie itself is not Oscar material by any stretch of the imagination. But if you set your standards low enough, it's actually very amusing. It actually would've worked well as a radio program, if those type of programs were still done. If you like to watch movies that have no redeeming value other than a good laugh, this is a must.

Obviously Not Taking Itself Seriously
28 July 2002
I can't help but enjoy this movie. It's a jiggle-movie that manages to make fun of jiggle-movies. Whether or not this was intended is irrelevant. One can very plainly tell that the cast and crew are NOT taking themselves seriously on this project. The dinosaurs appear to be recycled from the Carnosaur movies, with no regard for achieving realism. The filmmakers have a great time using the oldest effects tricks in the book for this movie. Again, like a lot of movies, this one is the type that is best enjoyed by those who enjoy a good, BAD movie.

A very "Alien-like" sequel.
19 April 2000
This movie is for those with patience. It can be very tedious at times. They seemed to have wanted to go with suspense but fell short. Somehow Dianne Ladd's rubber puppet dinosaurs have ended up in a government mining facility in Nevada. And a very rag-tag crew of computer repairmen (and woman) just happen to be there at the time. From there, the movie follows a very Aliens type synopsis. The Velociraptor dinosaurs have improved their looks considerably since the first movie, but their movement is incredibly stiff. The same T=Rex appears in this film. Like the first, this movie is for those that like cheesy films with low production values.
