Hot Seat (2022)
2/10
Huge disappointment!
14 November 2022
I've seen many movies that involved Mel Gibson ranging from the Lethal Weapon series to The Passion of the Christ. I respected him for the Passion and thought it was tastefully done and was a good representation of what Jesus faced.

I have enjoyed the tense moments with humor appropriately interjected in several movies.

Hot Seat was a huge disappointment though. It was poorly written, predictable, and poorly acted. It seemed that there was a such a lack of imagination that the producers had to see how much unnecessary foul language they could interject to attain an "R" rating.

It seems that Mr. Gibson sold out his talent & gift for so much less than he is capable of producing.

Shrek (2001)
9/10
Very refreshing after the recent animated Disney releases.

My family and I truly enjoyed Shrek. It contained some of the best animation and most realistic graphics to date. At times it was hard to distinguish whether the graphics were actual video footage, painted or computer generated. Visually Shrek is refreshing after the recent string of Disney releases where the characters all look alike.

In addition to the visual stimulation, the character voices were very well chosen. The story was well written and effectually dealt with development of relationships between characters of different backgrounds.

One of the best films ever!

One problem with an otherwise great film.
3 June 2000
This was a great story line. The one major flaw was that Tony Curtis was identifiable too early in the film. Someone less known or less easily identified would have helped the suspense. Overall the acting was weak. The main character was supposed to be an acting teacher. One of his lines was "If I was a good actor, I wouldn't be teaching acting." That was definitely a self-fulfilling statement. Neither cast nor effects did the story-line justice.
