Daredevil (2003)
What a dissapointment
This was easily one of the worst movies I have seen in recent years. The acting by Affleck is so stiff, you would think he was reading his lines off cue cards. Garner is ok, but without any real passion. Duncan and Farrell are well below par.
While the acting is bad, the script and direction are horid. The movie is extremely choppy at times and confusing to anyone not familiar with the Daredevil storyline. The frequent and annoying use of slow motion only further detracts from the movie.
I have never been happier to see the closing credits.
Armageddon (1998)
Too many errors to enjoy
I know I am in the minority here, but I just could not really enjoy this movie because of all the mistakes that were made. Yes it is a pretty good action/blow-em-up movie, and if I were just judging it on that I would probably give it a higher rating. But there were so many simple mistakes that were made that it ended up distracting me from the movie. Added to that a script that was not as good as the other asteroid movie that year (Deep Impact), and you end up with a sub standard movie
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Mission: Disaster
One of the worst films of the last few years. The premise of Mission: Impossible was always great story lines and ingenious plots and escapades. Unfortunately this move ignores all of that and makes the movie one long over the top action sequence. The plot (what there is of it) is contrived. The dialogue is extremely minimal, with a lot of holes. With no plot to hold the movie together, one must rely on the action to get through this, but it is too much. If you were to eliminate all the slow-motion effects, the movie would be reduced to half its running time. Save your money
Just a Little Harmless Sex (1998)
A cute, light comedy....a good rental
Found this movie to be a perfect Sat evening rental.....some light comedy (a few very funny scenes) added with some drama, and a pretty good cast. It is not Shakespeare, that is for sure...but what is?
The only glaring problem was a stage-hand's head popping up at the bottom of the screen during a particularly good scene towards the end.
