A Killer Next Door (2020)
Decent low budget flick
I love movies like this and was delighted to see John List finally get screen treatment. The acting is a bit soap opera-ish and the accents are beyond distracting, but it is overall enjoyable.
Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980)
36 Years Later and Still Dominates
What else could be said about this film? It still holds it value through out time. The undisputed champion of the Star Wars saga. Everyone happened to be firing on all cylinders during this production. -Lucas was still in his genius creative mode -dark tone that fit the story -absence of embarrassment(Ewoks, Jar Jar, Young Anakin) -unique training montage for the 80s (no power ballad) -Luke got mature, no more whiny brat from A New Hope -great practical effects -Vader at the top of his game -Leia with her regular accent -cool as ice Lando I could go on. If you are new to the saga, this one is the most solid. Try to find the original cinematic release version instead of the "Mad George" remix.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
So much wasted potential
It seems that Zack Snyder has done the impossible and made the match up of the 2 most iconic superheroes fall flat. The movie's visuals are beautiful and the scenes look like they come out of a modern comic book. This is may be enough for super fans of the characters, but not enough for the average movie goer. The story seems it should be for 2 or 3 different movies (and seems a little rushed). I found myself asking the purpose of Lois Lane in the story (should have been background for this) and Wonder Woman being in so little (her and Batfleck the best of the movie). I will skip my criticism of the title of the movie. This had all of the misses of Man of Steel. Sadly, with a different director, I am sure that this movie would have fallen in place much better.
BlackMale (2000)
an independent thrill-ride
This is a must see film for people who enjoy "off the wall" thrillers. The movie filled with slightly predictable, but truly amazing plot twists. Every character is memorable in this maniac driven film. I think a sequel should be considered. Rest in Peace Justin Pierce.
Scary Movie (2000)
an excellent spoof of a parody
This film was one of the funniest parodies I have ever viewed. If you are into the popular movies that have hit the mainstream in the last few years (Scream, The Matrix, The Usual Suspects) then be prepared to laugh yourself into a frenzy. The comedy is a little raunchy at times, but it really gets its point across. What else would you expect from a rated R movie?
