Metropolis (1927)
The first?, and probably the best sci-fi ever
Alright, the acting is not all that great, but you kinda expect that from a silent movie. The visual effects, however are stunning, not only if you take the year of production into account. The story is good, and most of it I took as an attack on Taylorism. (Which is good, because Taylorism needs attacking) And the visuals from the Metropolis itself is copied, to greater or lesser degree, by Blade Runner, Judge Dread (can't believe I mentioned those in one breath), Star Wars (R2-D2's first performance was in Metropolis, it turns out!) Fifth Element...Those are all I can think of for the moment.
If you're a sci-fi fan, or like visual beauty in movies, Metropolis is well worth a peek. Don't know if the coloured versions are good though.
Karl & Co (1998)
A poor attempt at the sit-com genre
There is not much to say about these series. The actors suffers from Severe Overacting Syndrome, and the "humour" is based upon the firm foundation of five year old children's fascination of that which starts where the back ends. It is the sequel to "Mot i Brøstet", and completely fails to reach it's level. And *that* wasn't very good either.
Enemy of the State (1998)
Boring, predictable, improbable movie with lousy dialogue
It's the typical Hollywood recipe: Impressive cast, big budget, lots of special effects and we have a movie. Just grab the Generic Hollywood Thriller Script, and we're cooking. Unfortunately it is not quite bad enough to be involuntarily funny. Complete waste of time unless you want to see the "zoom in on that red blob on the screen to get a slightly bigger red blob on the screen"-scene, and the "we have a standard two dimensional picture of a man carrying a bag, so let's grab the bag, turn it around, discover the stolen gizmo, and eat the grapes contained therein"-scene.
