Chi luo kuang ben (1993)
Bad
Perfect example of a bad Hong Kong film: cheap & trashy. Boosts one cool stunt at the beginning and a nice fight scene at the end, but the rest is terrible. Some ridiculous attempts to add a feminist touch to the film.
Yiu sau dou si (1992)
Bad, bad, bad.
The european video version of this film sucks. It boosts pathetic dubbing, and claims to be an "uncensored version" featuring "scenes never showed before", but I doubt this is true. For the film: it's incredibly dumb, has a very ugly production value, bad acting and has such an intense pace that you feel it could end any moment. And if it did, you couldn't give a **** about it. If you must watch it, fast-forward it to the cool scene in which a woman is transformed from an elevator into a motorcycle...
Goo wak chai: Yan joi gong woo (1996)
bad
i'd like to meet the guy who said this film is "a better tomorrow for the nineties", which is printed on the cover. it's not. it's not even half as good. which figures when you know it's based on a comic strip... there is hardly any character development here and the few action scenes there are are ruined by the director's fuzzy slow-motion, as in his other film "to live and die in the streets of tsim sha tsui". some nice performances but overall it's really a mess.
Heung Gong kei on: Keung gaan (1993)
Sleazy
sleazy film, very cheaply made. beware: the film is notorious for it's graphic sex/rape scenes, which are CUT OUT on the english release on the "made in hong kong" label.
Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)
Disappointing.
Very sloppy and a little dull, I can't imagine how awful this film would be for non-trekkers. An utterly disappointing movie after the exciting "FIRST CONTACT". Seems slapped together.
