It was very impressive to see Sandy come into a full crew as a new captain and assess all of the personalities and functions on the boat. She has the obvious depth of experience with 30 years in the business. She was able to quickly determine where/who the problems were on the boat and address them in a fair and objective manner. I admire that she is her own personality and yet is able to make the tough decisions that she needs to make for the betterment of the team. I was pulling for her and you could see the "no drama" experiences hard workers of the team agreed with her leadership. A very interesting situation.
So far this season reminds me why I quit watching to begin with. Firstly, the overt over the top camera work paired with "strong woman" background music is enough to turn the channel. Cmon, we want to see the ladies, that's what we signed on for since Season 1. Stop with the dramatics and start with the real. Then, every characters (because by now we know these are characters) outfits are obviously preplanned 'made for tv'. The dialogue feels forced. Kyle living her best life away from these ladies is what I long for. I would love to see an episode with just Kyle are her real friends, not these 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer'. Besides Kyle the only real women here seems to be Erica and Garcelle. Dorit's 'mean girl' is just that, mean. And uninteresting. Let's get back to some semblance of reality please.
I too believe that these men need a mistrial. That some of the elements of the sexually abusing and general unethical behavior of the father and mother were inadmissible in court is so questionable at best. At some point, this twisted story that was created wholly by the parents should be seen by an impartial jury in its entirety. It seemed like these boys were guilty in the court of public opinion by a public trial (why?). The public didn't like these attractive rich kids. It shouldn't matter if people like them or not. Let the facts speak for themselves. Hopefully time has allowed public perception of abuse to be seen as it really is, deeply damaging and life altering. These two deserve a second chance at a life.
