The last best film of the 90's
17 September 1999
Ok people. Like most of the Kubrick films, this one is the movie everybody loves or everybody hates. But look at the atmosphere around the movie, look the bizarre characters and look at the plot. Like one critic says this is 1999: A Sexual Odissey.

The plot is much like 2001 in narrative aspects. We have a lot of enigmas flying around, and at the end we only the have our perspective. What happen when you saw the movie? You keep thinking and dreaming!! This one is well made, inteligent story and wonderful soundtrack. I still don't know why you people says this one is a major disaster...

Dallas (1978–1991)
That J.R.'s show
13 April 1999
Dallas, one of the most famous soap operas of all time, is the story of the power control and his bad use in the name of the evil guy J.R. Ewing.

The Ewing family, owners of Ewing Oil and his rivals, the Barnes are such a classic in TV, along with the characters: Bobby, Pam, Sue Ellen, Miss Ellie, Cliff Barnes, Ray, Jenna, Carter Mc Kay and even the very bad girl, Kristin.

Larry Hagman is one charismatic for one charismatic role. Maybe Dallas is now too old for the new TV shows, but this one should be remembered as one of the most popular and good shows around the globe.

Is a shame....
7 April 1999
Sad Story... we have great expectations for a film that in the trailer seems cool and realistic.. instead we have one boring soap opera like the mexican soaps we have...

Some actors are not so bad, but the others...... Excuse me, Mr. Carrasco, how can you direct that kind of "actors".

Well... maybe next time. Maybe...

Yellow Submarine is the best cartoon movie. And plus we have the Beatles.. so what are you waiting for?

Good script, good music, good sequences, excellent animation, good jokes, good in every way.

One of the best of the 90's
28 March 1999
Martin (Hache) is one of the best films because the plot is about feelings, about the relationship between humans. Real people listening, learning and talking with real people.

Excellent characters with a lot to tell, to listen. A plot that we may live every day and we didn't notice, a plot that shakes to the point to think why you really are alive...

If you miss this, you will lose two hours of reflection.

Amazing in all ways
16 March 1999
When you see a movie that is based in theater you may think this is going to be SO boring, but think twice if the movie is the Baby of Macon.

This one rocks in all ways. Is pure and perfect cinema, an homage to both theater and movies.

And don't miss the incredible sequence when Julia Ormond is raped, just a great scene.

Marvelous film.

Weird one, but very cool.

Twin brothers who lost their women, a woman without legs, a girl named Beta, animals who are eaten by animals, bizarre characters, bizarre plot. What else?

Is Greenaway's second film and this one is so good that you have to see to believe it. Maybe hard to watch, but in the end, you'll be satisfied.

A must-see!

Why this one is not an excellent movie
16 March 1999
I don't understand... We have the music of the best band in the world, we have incredible sequences of live action and breathless animation, we have good performances, good direction... but I don't think this one is SO cool.

I guess that music can't be transformed in images. And I am not saying that Alan Parker do a bad work. I think that this film has great moments.

But, at the end, what can you see of the film? Maybe that's my big question without an answer.

Anyway, is a movie watchable. The best, of course, is the music.

Well... is good.

The Draughtsman's Contract is a very good movie, and has beautiful shots and cool characters, but is a bit slow.

Don't misunderstand me, this one is like all the Greenaway movies: so good to miss it. This is a great film with excellent moments, but I don't think the end is the best...

Anyway, this one rocks.

This one rocks!

Hey guys! ok, I will not tell what other people tell you in the user comments, but when you see this one, you will find that americans can do also excellent films, and this is proof.

Director Forman does what others directors can't. Make yourself involved in a history. You will laugh, maybe you will cry, but one thing for sure, you will reflexionate.

Good movies exist, but they are not new... Enjoy this classic!

Microcosmos (1996)
Beautiful movie!
26 February 1999
This is another example how documentaries can be an extraordinary experience to watch. I mean, see Koyaanisqatsi and Powaqatsi and then see this and you will find that movies don't need actors or an original plot to be an enjoyable thing.

This one is quite a favorite. Don't miss it

The X Files (1998)
This film needs more than just M & S
7 January 1999
For a truly fan, this film may be (or may be not) a disappointment. I mean, look for the "Anazasi" trilogy, look for the "Redux" trilogy, watch an episode from season 4, and you will know what the X Files really are.

Ok, the film have his moments, but I don't think this is the best episode of the show, I think is below the very best episodes..

But on the good side, we have great performances from all around (Duchovny, Anderson, Landau, Pillegi, Davis, and of course, John Neville), great FX, beautifuls shots and well, we have amusing cameos and inside jokes.

The best thing about this is perhaps the work behind the script , for make a story for an audience who doesn't known the show and for those who really love this TV series.

Fight the Future is good, but not great. See the show, is much better...

Trainspotting (1996)
Choose This
7 January 1999
Trainspotting may be one of those films we love to hate. The actors are great, (what a marvelous McGregor), the music is excellent, the story is not bad, blah, blah, blah..

We may think this is the kind of movies that rocks the young people, because that's the kind of thing we (oh no...) live every day (is that true?). And not only the youngs, ask your parents or teachers if they saw it.

And yes, this is like an anti-drug film, maybe not for all tastes, but hey, this is not a fiction of an irish, this is close to the truth. The drugs destroy, the life is a paradox, and the choice is up to you. Trainspotting is a cool way to show how bad can be this form of life

This is the kind of things Mexican movies needs!
7 January 1999
De tripas, corazón is a marvelous short-film. It has comedy, drama and suspense. Gael García makes a great performance as the kid who loves the hooker (a very good Elpidia Carrillo) of the town.

Best of all, the excellent supporting cast members, I must say they all rocks. Don't miss this one.

A clap for the editor, David Lapine

Pulp Fiction (1994)

What a wonderful movie!!!
7 January 1999
Ok, no review now because we all saw this awesome movie. The best is not the actors (despite the great Samuel L. Jackson), is I guess, the wonderful script about that kind of things that we usually in our minds we have, but that we never get out from our mouth.

I mean, the silence when we talk with another, the things we know about erotism and sexuality but never talk about it, that moral and ethic we have, but never use, etc...

At the end, we only may say that Tarantino do everything he could, and now, 4 years later, we may say, that this is a film for all eras, because that kind of speech is the kind we live every day, in all walks of life. Do not judge the bad words, or the places around, look for the speech... that's the real thing.

Una patada en los yarboclos!
7 January 1999
A Clockwork Orange, another Kubrick Masterpiece, is the history of Alex, the young ultra-violent guy who is going to learn that life is not that simple and pretty as he thinks. Every move he makes, every thing he does, everything is going to rerurn for Alex in the wrong way.

This may be an educational, sci-fi, dramatic, comic, powerful film. The film has all we can expect for an excellent picture. Great direction, great actors, great photography, great storyline.

It was filmed 28 years ago, but, hey! this film is one of those that time doesn't make the difference.

Vidy this and vidy well.....

My god, is full of stars!!!
23 December 1998
2001, the most controversial film of the 60's makes the reflection about what a movie needs to be good. We have a lot of sci-fi movies but no other like 2001 makes the real thing, maybe only Star Wars, but admit it, Star Wars is an epic saga for all ages and 2001 requires more than just know something about anything.

The proverbial good sci-fi movie 2001 is the story of an evolutionated world, from Moonwatcher, to David Bowman, the star child. The mysterious monolith is in a way the real star of the film, along with Dave and HAL 9000

Read the book, and you will find a lot of answers that the movie dosn't make. And now, stop will you?
