good show, but lots of problems
7 January 2000
Beast Machines has revived some of the old concepts from the original show, but it has a lot of continuity problems and errors. Cybertron is suddenly organic, Primal's change in bodies from Beast Wars was ignored, and the characterization changes sometimes make me sick, especially Primal's "light-hearted" stance. Plus the Maximals running constantly doesn't make for any good battle scenes. Bob Skir has also changed his mind on certain issues over and over(we will see Decepticons, we now won't see them...). Hopefully season 2 will fix a lot of problems, but we will have to see.

John Belushi must be spinning in his grave
4 August 1999
I pretty much guessed this movie would be bad. After all, seeing the Blues Brothers license sold out to 3 HORRIBLE Nintendo games was bad enough. Then this hits. Did Kim Henkel have something to do with this movie? Because it was the same thing as Texas Chainsaw Massacre:The Next Generation- a total rehash of the first with awful acting. We didn't need all of those special effects. In fact it seems anymore there must be a requirement for computer graphics to take up 80% of the scenery. As for the characters- Elwood was OUT OF CHARACTER! John Goodman, while has talent, needs to find a role other than "loser" in SOMETHING! The boy was a plot device we didn't need. The only thing saving this movie was a few cameos by original cast members. But John Lee Hooker and Ray Charles aren't here, and they're still alive last I checked. Most of the music scenes had no real purpose. And then there's the fact that Elwood is now a stuck up jerk who will lie to just about anyone. Take my advice and forget this movie ever happened. In fact, buy the original and avoid this. This deserves to be on MST3K.

Catch-22 (1970)
partial
7 April 1999
While the movie had an all-star cast and good acting, it was still only part of what the book was. They left out a lot, and messed up the order of events. Good to watch if you haven't read the book, but if you have, you won't understand the movie.

The action of a Bond movie with the thrill of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre!
1 March 1999
People say this is a bad movie? Scream and its type are bad movies! This one is excellent. They went in-depth to explain everything (if you say otherwise, you obviously were on drugs when you watched it), the action was intense, the thrill was enough to make you watch it all the way through. Recommended!

Blood Salvage (1990)

Twisted and entertaining
5 January 1999
This is one of those obscure horror films made and forgotten. But this movie has all the parts of a classic. Smooth plot, understandable events, blood, it has it all. The interaction between Jake and his 2 sons works, and the way the victims are treated is expected. Watch this movie!

what was Kim Henkel thinking?
12 December 1998
This was written by Kim Henkel, one of the writers for part 1. But, it's obvious had Henkel written the first without Tobe Hooper, it woulda been bad too. Maybe when Tobe Hooper makes part 5, he'll keep Henkel away from the project. The family ate pizza? The leader was a robot? Leatherface screaming like a baby? His mask being a solid piece of brown rubber? WTH? And I know the dinner scene woman suit was based on Ed Gien entirely, but the series wasn't meant to portray Ed Gien, it was loosely based on Gien. Maybe if Tobe Hooper had done this one( I hear it was done against his permission), it woulda been close to good.

Leatherface is back, and he's staying.
20 October 1998
Although this movie didn't have the full feel of the first 2, and left an open ending, this movie is still a classic. Leatherface is still the retarded, insane hunter he always was, and Leatherface was the movie. The family is also a nice touch- helps drive the insane feeling of the movie.
