Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)
Best Marvel movie for teens
Got to say this is the best Marvel movie for teens. And only if you are teens.
I'd like to say that a smart teens should behave much better than Peter Parker in the film. But who knows, maybe these days, teens are really that reckless (but not so lucky as in the film.)
It's really a cache movie story line but hey, it's entertainment. Nothing serious from the real world.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
Great stunts, lousy plot
No doubts, the stunts are magnificent but the story line is terribly unrealistic. Russian Minister of Defense carrying the football in US? Fighter-like-spirit Russian as a race to simply dive up football to bully. No! they will die without giving in! Have football can launch nuclear weapon at will? No! There will be intervention (complicated but possible) from the control to prevent the misuse besides, in US you need to authentication, why in Russia you need one? Crazy. As for the rest, just for entertainment, really.
Great stunts, but lousy plot.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
Force awakened, how about the audience?
Star war repeated itself, again.
For newbie, this might mean something but for old timers who have seen the movie saga since 70's. It is just repetition.
There is a reluctant hero: Luke then, Rey now. There is a 'death' of mentor/father figure: Obi-Wan then, not telling you who now. There is a super pilot destroy the death star: Luke then, Po now. There is a reckless cowboy: Han Solo then, Fin now. There is a cute robot: R2D2 then, BB-8 now. There is a dark force figure: Vadar then, Kylo now. and so on. and of course, there is always a Chewi...
The characters split and distributed among other characters. The basic story line is the same. Nothing new except that the ending strongly indicates a sequel. Hollywood does know how to make money. It is entertaining.
The force has awakened; I wonder when the audience will.
Spectre (2015)
A deviation from Daniel Craig's 007.
For entertainment, it's a 8 out of 10. I have heard about there is a detour from the usual Bond we know. The conspiracy and international crime becomes family feud. But this is still fine with me. I meant, Bond is human. It's just a human story. However, "Spectre" plot has wrinkles. I like Daniel Craig's portrait of Bond, it is different from the past Bond but this really suits him. The series of Bond with Daniel has more realistic touch than all previous 007. But this Spectre seems to be falling to the 'drama' direction which I dislike. Even batman is getting more realistic. For example, in fighting with the muscular guy in the train, Bond finally hooks him with tin wine barrels tossed out of the train; the last moment is the bad guy say "Shit" and then dragged out of the cart. Cliché. come on. Why going for the 'old' routine. I really like the realistic touch. And the villain, who was a close old acquittance of Bond, enacts too much of 'prolonged' game that make Bond's survival possible. Again, cliché. I'd like to see Bond seriously wounded and badly injured then recovers to fight back. That would have been nice. Let's see the next Bond, which may not be Daniel but please make it realistic.
Walk of Shame (2014)
It's funny. But if you are looking for humor, don't try this.
It's funny.
It is very funny. But if you are looking for humor, you may find it offensive. Why? because there are many ways a film can make you laugh. Some use wit, some use racy remark, some use slang, some uses sarcasm...etc This one is anything but wits. However, it is funny.
As all comedy goes, little in it can be realistic. Gangsters and drug dealers can not be so nice, cops may not be so dumb. And TV stations can not be ... well... maybe they can. LOL. This film is definitely not realistic. It show how 'smart' Elizabeth Banks can be as an comedian. Love her character in this film.
Watch it and it will crack you up.
Meet the Parents (2000)
Good, bad and ok.
Well. At first, it was fun. Real laugh and all are quiet reasonable and plausible. Meaning, it does happen in real life. But then it gets stupid. Unrealistic. Yeah, well, that is comedy, it is NOT supposed to realistic.
At the end it is fine. So I would say it is ok to watch it.
For me, comedy either has to start ridiculously impossible or close to reality and possible. Somewhere in between will just spoil the fun. Either you are totally into the fantasy land or you are a little off the realty but still possible.
Going cross and back and forth, narhhhhh.. I don't think so.
Facade (1999)
Had I known, I won't watch it even if I am paid to.
Lousy is not enough to say how bad the script is. It doesn't really have a story and try to portrait this "surreal" environment on very slim intellectual background. It is a pure waste of time and money to watch it. Whoever are affiliated with this movie have made a terrible business and career mistake. Two thumbs down, way down. If the rating has -10, I will give it to this one.
