Hochzeitsnacht-Report (1972)
Dated but interesting
This is a very odd film that only the Europeans could have made in the early 1970's.
I suppose in German it would be just a straight throwback to the early nudie films, but the bad dubbing just makes this bizzare.
The thin plot revolves around a stranded wedding party and the game they play to wilde away the time before they can get to the reception in an old castle.
Full frontal male nudity and vulgar languge makes this film suitable for those 17 and up.
Bubbles Galore (1996)
Go Nina(Bubbles)!
I love this country! Where else would various government agencies fund a raincoater.
To be fair, this is Nina Hartley's best work to date(if one overlooks her perfomance in Boogie Nights).
Women are making strives in the Adult film industry and are beginning to stretch their wings in this genre.
This is a strange film, a little violent and hard to follow at times, but slightly better than a Three's Company rerun.
Interestingly enough, Nina Robert's hasn't seen the film yet, and this film will never be realeased in the U.S.
This movie does have a fair bit of Canadian Content, enough I suppose to justify the grants,
This time Canada plays Canada for a change.
Sorority Sex Kittens 3 (1997)
Grade F!
I recently caught this excersize in banality recently on pay per view.
Unlike films like Fast Times at Ridgemont High or Animal House, there is no disernable storyline to go along with the campus hijinx.
The only saving grace is Nina Hartley who lives things up as the world's oldest teenager.
If you rent the tape be aware that you will have no problem fast forwarding to get to the "good stuff" and missing anything.
Better yet just give this one a miss altogether.
It's a shame as I met Ms. Hartley last year, and she is far more intellegent then you would think after watching this dreck.
Kurt & Courtney (1998)
Courtney Victim or Villain?
I saw Courtney Love and her band Hole perform in Vancouver, during the 1995 Lollapalooza tour. She was strung out and one of her hands was bandaged from a fight she had on the tour the day before.
Her performance was more of a freak show than anything else. We were waiting for her to self destruct.
Instead she rose like a phoenix and transformed herself into a glamour queen. Don't be misled by her transformation.
In this documentry she is portrayed as a seriously deranged person. She had a lot of help. Her father for one.
Perhaps Nancy Reagan was right after all?
Just say no.
Don't hurt me Courtney.
