While most Dutch movies are hard, cold and violent this prooves that a Dutch crew can make a heartwarming film. Based on a children's book Minoes is one of the best films, if not THE best Dutch film, in a long time. Minoes is very convincing as a shy lady and oposite Tibbe is an excellent shy reporter. Everything from the acting, situations, details to story are original and very entertaining (always capturing the original spirit of the book). Very well done, very much worthwhile. Do get the DVD!

This must be one of the silliest movies ever made. It is called The Chase and that's all it is. 90 minutes of police cars chasing a BMW. What do people like in action movies? The car chase. So why not make a whole movie of it?
And the strangest thing is: it is actually fun to watch. Since it is just a chase there's no plot either making it entertaining because it is so basic.

There's Something About Mary

Fun plot, horrible movie

Something about Mary is an example of how bad movie makers can turn an original plot into a horribly cheap and silly movie. These are the kind of jokes made up by elementary school kids in a silly mood. There's nothing really original and although Mary is drop dead gorgeous there's nothing about her but a "tight little package". One has to steep very low to go for just that for almost two hours. Even the cheesiest brat pack movies have more class than this movie.
The American President

Simple story, excellent movie

This movie shows that a good movie doesn't need a brilliant story. The plot is no more than: the president has a girlfriend. Yet the dialogs, details and acting make this an excellent movie that makes the viewer laugh, cry and enjoy. There's not a boring moment in the movie and at the end the viewer is left with a warm feeling inside. This is what entertainment should be. Very recommendable viewing material!
