Love it!
17 May 2006
I got back into watching this show when the DVD's were released. I had taped the show off cable years earlier so I've been able to reacquaint myself with the whole series.

I would hate for others not to want to watch the series because they only think that the first two seasons are the only good ones. True it does start to lose some spark in the middle of the 4th season but I think that was more the network's problem than anything else.

Dean Cain and Teri Hatcher had incredible chemistry throughout the whole series. Dean's portrayal of Clark/Superman is the best as far as I'm concerned. Even though Superman was a superhero he never felt he was above anyone. Clark even came across as a hero in his own right. He was incredibly sweet and romantic, not to mention yummy on a stick.

With a terrific supporting cast, this show is the perfect "chick" series.

People have commented on the fact that they shouldn't have gotten Lois and Clark together when they did, but most of the fans were angry at the network for keeping them apart as long as they did. This was pretty evident when the ratings started dropping during the clone/amnesia/New Krypton arc (which I really liked--there I admit it).

This is a wonderful fantasy-romance-action series that still holds its own 10 years after it left the network.

Possession (2002)
Wonderful movie!
15 September 2002
I saw this film yesterday and thought it was the best I've seen this year. Not having read the book I was still able to follow the story of Ash and Cristabel and thought there was a wonderful connection between Maude and Roland. I thought the seamless ways that the past and the present blended together was amazing, as you never knew at the start of a scene where you would be. I don't know how anyone watching Ash untie Cristabel's stays could have said their scenes lacked passion...I almost melted into the seat!

Much has been said about the novel by AJ Byatt, however the book was almost 600 pages long! Perhaps the BBC will want to take this and make it a 6 hour mini-series (which I would happily watch).

This film was a romantic/mystery which was easy to watch and easy to fall in love with the main characters and the story itself. I would highly recommend it!

The Love Letter (1998 TV Movie)
It's a wonderful, wonderful movie
27 June 2002
I love romance movies. I'll spend boring weekends just popping them in the VCR. I love time travel romances and after watching SOMEWHERE IN TIME for the 10th time spent an entire weekend debating where "the watch" originated with my husband and friends. I happened to catch THE LOVE LETTER on cable one rainy afternoon and by the end of the movie I had gone through an entire box of Kleenex. The "romance" between Scotty and Lizzie was so touching. I did think that the poems Lizzie wrote were pretty sappy but we're talking about the 19th century here. Whenever you watch a time travel movie or read that type of book, you really have to learn to suspend disbelief, but the way this movie was handled it seemed so possible. That they could actually feel each others presence across time was so beautifully handled. The music was hauntingly beautiful as well. My only quibble with the whole story was if the time portal worked from the past to the present, why couldn't it work from the present to the past. I felt so sad that Lizzie had to live all those years without Scotty. All in all it's a great movie. I would, and have, recommended it to anyone who loves romance.

It was a hoot!
13 May 2001
I was eagerly anticipating the sequal to "The Mummy" and "The Mummy Returns" didn't disappoint! It was wonderfully funny and campy! It started you off on a roller coaster ride and didn't let up until the credits rolled. The plot was a little thin, but who cared! There were enough thrills, chills, spills, and laughs to more than make up for it. Brendan Frasier was great and Oded Fehr was wonderfully dark and sexy. There was that terrific chemistry between Rick and Evie and I thought Evie's brother Jonathan was hysterically inept and greedy but ultimately heroic. Little Alex was a wonderful addition to the cast and not just a child character used to make up for shortcomings in the script. The final poignant scenes of Im-Ho-Tep and Anck-Su-Namun were surprising showing a redeming side of him. This is just a great fun summer movie I'm afraid I have to disagree with my favorite film critic on this one! Sorry, Roger!

Thoroughly enchanting!
14 April 2001
Not having read the BJD books I went to this movie based solely on the TV trailers. It was such a wonderful film. Kudos to Rene Zellweger for having the courage to gain 20 pounds in order to do the role. Bridget would not have been the same had she been a stick thin hollywood type and no amount of makeup or special effects could make those adorably chubby cheeks (both kinds!) Rene's british accent was right on. Hugh Grant was excellently cast as her smarmy boss and a svelte looking Colin Firth again played "Mr. Darcy" with just the right amount of disdain and pathos. I laughed at Bridgets foibles and cheered at her self discovery. All in all it was a wonderfully entertaining and romantic movie and was over much to soon.

Hot Hot Hot!!
20 August 2000
I'm not a big football fan, but I thought this movie was hilarious and Keanu Reeves is Hot, Hot, Hot. This is definitely not an oscar contender, but the movie was funny, and had "heart". A bunch of football wannabe misfits takes over when the pro-football "babies" go on strike. You know it's gonna be a feel-good movie and it didn't disappoint. I thought the scene in the jail was hysterical and the cheerleaders were a hoot. Don't see this movie if you want some deep, thought-provoking cinema experience, but do see it if you want to watch something that will make you laugh and want to root for the underdog. OH, and did I mention that Keanu was hot, hot, hot!!!!?

I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!
27 May 2000
OK, folks...you have to suspend your disbelief and just sit back and enjoy. I had tears in my eyes for most of this movie. The chemistry between the main characters is wonderful. Sure there are some things that are not easily explained but this is not the kind of movie that can be analyzed to death. Movies such as this, the BACK TO THE FUTURE trilogy, and SOMEWHERE IN TIME are the kind of movies that are to be enjoyed for the story and the enjoyment that they provide on whatever level. If you want reality, this is not the movie to see and you'd best stick to documentaries!!! It's got suspense, action, special effects, but mostly it has heart. The end of the movie almost knocked me off my feet. I can't wait until it comes out on video so I can watch it again and again. This is a definite keeper!!!

I guess you have to not be a critic!
27 February 1999
If I'd listened to the critics I never would have gone to see this film. I would have missed out on an entertaining, heart-warming movie. Sure it's a little predictable, but so what? This film was funny and sweet and Juliette Lewis and Giovanni Ribisi were wonderfully cast as the two lovers. You felt yourself rooting for them from the first frame. When the movie was over, the whole audience cheered! I know that's why I pay to see a movie. If I wanted high art this wouldn't have been my first choice, but I wanted to be enterained and leave the theater feeling good...and I did. It's not fair to compare this film to DOMINIC AND EUGENE, which was a wonderful film. But D&E was much darker and sadder. THE OTHER SISTER was light and entertaining and sometimes that's just what one needs to see.

One of the most romantic movies I've ever seen!!!
18 December 1998
I've been starved for a great romantic film and YOU'VE GOT MAIL more than sated my appetite! I'd rank it right up there with CASABLANCA as one of the most romantic movies of all time. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have more chemistry than a High School Science Department! This movie was warm, funny, smart, and sexy. Tom and Meg light up the screen and Tom Hanks is the perfect hero! The movie was 2 hours long, felt like 10 minutes, and I didn't want it to be over! This is a definite keeper, and I can't wait for it to come out on video so I can watch it again and again!

Them! (1954)
10/10
One of my all time favorites!
13 September 1998
My husband and I have seen THEM dozens of times. When ever we just want to veg out we put it in the VCR. It's funny we still find new things. The story is a little fatalistic sometimes, but the acting is so convincing. I keep imagining it being remade by say, Steven Speilberg. It really would be a shame. The best part are the ants! I just love the cardboard wings!
