Nirvana Inn (2020) :
Brief Review -
A race of stifling guilt and liberation is not won by this tortoise speed film. Some films tests your patience but then shows some High quality stuff at the end which fulfills the need of it and believe me Nirvana Inn is surely not that film. Let me tell you why? First big reason is there is no reason given for the lead character's liberation. Because we don't even know his background that actually why he wanted to die? After this there are psychological and horrific hallucinations which actually don't end up making any fixing. Somehow or certainly, these fictional characters are not acceptable in real life theory hence the entire narrative build on those characters collapses heavily. Nirvana Inn is too slow to even get some praise. As you can see many useless scenes which doesn't even deserve 20 seconds of the screenplay actually eat up 60 to 70 seconds. A small walking scene gets 40 seconds and suddenly ends, can you believe it? Even ordinary dialogues of 2 words like 'Good Night' get 20 seconds pauses, you serious? I mean what were you trying to say? What was the outcome? These major blunders makes Nirvana Inn dull and prosy. Adil Hussain delivers one of the finest performance till date whereas supporting cast is expectedly fine. Background Music is used badly, cinematography is good, dialogues are decent, screenplay is slow and the writing is somewhat effective. Director Vijay Jayapal loses momentum and grip again and again and then doesn't even clarify big things at the end. Apart from these mistakes he hasn't done anything bad. Nirvana Inn tries to make it arthouse by subtle thoughts but doesn't even draw the full Sketch. In a nutshell, a tortoise trying to win the race of liberation goes off track and reaches heaven through that lost track.
