For those that don't know.
bretthill-588414 June 2019
Now, I am a 32 year old man from the North of the UK, so I consider myself a stoic man's man, a real salt of the earth and down to business man.

Yet, I never understood the hype behind the Jonas brothers, as I don't follow that kind of music so, my other half suggested watching this documentary because she is a fan.

So, we watched it and well, that's certainly opened my eyes.

The documentary follows the lives of the three brothers, their parents and all of the religious and private views of their family.

The whole thing leaves you with a warm feeling towards family and sheds light on the brothers as a family and not the product you see on your TV screens.

Give it a watch.

Don't Call It A Comeback!!
vandrist5 June 2019
A behind the scenes look at the rise and fall of the Jonas Brothers to build up their comback tour. You get to see the struggle for their claim to fame and how it seemingly happened overnight. One of the first bands to utilize the social media platform and soar to incredible heights. It was a well done documentary to show how the brothers came full circle to reunite.

Good Watch...

Wasn't a fan when they were at their peak, but after watching this documentary, I have to respect the grind. These guys have talent. Nick and Joe were able to carve out solo careers, but as a group, you can say they had to reinvent themselves and evolve which shows on their album.

Fan or not, very much worth watching

I didn't know too much about them back in the day, but having seen this, I realized that the perception I had about them as this squeaky boring Disney product was way off. I'm even listening to their music, and it's really good. I also learned a lot about my relationship with my own family, and how important that is to me. Overall, great movie.

From the opening all the way through the end of the credits, Chasing Happiness will have you drawn in to the real, raw, emotional story of the Jonas Brothers. In a world and industry so consumed with shiny facades, this refreshing transparent story of family, fame and happiness is a must see.

Disappointed
whiteboutique29 June 2019
I thought this was a good story but where did God appear in the whole story. To think that 3 kids got such a strong foundation from their father I was disappointed to think they lost it! Fame and fortune is nothing without God at the foundation and there is no mention of God here! However successful these very talented brothers are they will never truly know their worth until they realise who gave them the talents in the first place and such a shame that Dad gave up his calling to be a manager!!!! Great film but sadly missing the most important factor in life ever......God!!!!

This was done perfectly. It told the story and showed them for who they really are. Made me cry and laugh and can't wait to see them to continue to succeed. They are a great team.

Gearing up for the reunion?
nancyldraper3 August 2019
If you have ever wondered, "Who are these Jonas Brothers musicians?" This is the documentary for you, seemingly produced by themselves (well, by that I mean, by their "people"). Interesting. Learned things about their roots, the band's ups and downs and their individual careers that I didn't know. It strikes me that the timing of this is to relaunch their Jonas Brothers band. I give it a 7 (good) out of 10. {Fan Piece/Documentary}

Even for Old Folks!
belleauwood16 June 2019
Watching Chasing Happiness right now on Amazon Prime. It is one of the best documentaries I have ever seen, just masterfully done - extremely worth spending an hour and a half watching. I have never been a Jonas Brothers fan, but I think I will be now. This is a great story of the power of family, talent, work ethic and faith. Great home video footage of an average family transforming into a major force. Part of the story is how the church rejected the entire family because the boys chose to be a secular band instead of a Christian band - it is heartbreaking. I guess I am truly fortunate to be an Episcopalian. I new we were on the more open minded end of the spectrum, but I am regularly realizing these days, how different our understanding of Christianity is. I also didn't know how hard they worked on stage and to build there career. The perception that they just got lucky and were an overnight sensation is totally debunked with this documentary. They worked extraordinarily hard and are a testament to the American Dream.

Beautiful Documentary
billz017 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The story takes you all the way to the beginning of the Jonas Brothers. To fans all around the world they truly are more than just a pop band they represent family values, Hard work, passion and so many good things and that is the reason the Jonas Brothers have die hard fans till this day. For a JB fan the documentary is truly an emotional roller coaster it takes you to all the great moments of this journey from 2008 massive success to 2013 disagreements and eventual breakup of the band. It feels so good that today they are at a point where there relationship is the strongest and they bought back the band and more importantly gave their fans one more chance to enjoy and go crazy as they did in their teen years. My favorite Jonas Brother is definitely Kevin now because he is most underrated and unappreciated by the music industry yet he is just as much even more talented than his brothers. They should have discussed Kevin's success in business world as a leader and as father more. It was really heartbreaking to see how Joe and Nick went on to perform without Kevin after the breakup. Joe said "we felt you were holding us back" but infact both Joe and Nick always held Kevin back not the other way around. Kevin is highly talented, incredibly strong and impressive person to be able to let their brothers take the leads in terms of fame and vocals.

Insight into a Beautiful Family
ablack9027 July 2020
I watched Chasing Happiness because I wanted to know Sophie Turner married a good guy. Weird motivation but I feel maternal towards her. I was blown away by this documentary which gave me so much more than what I was looking for. Joe is a sensitive & thoughtful young man with a penchant for joking. Yep. Perfect for Sophie!!

The show follows the brothers' careers from early age to the present. And provides insight into their family of origin. Raised in music, Nick started by singing on Broadway, Keven with commercials and Joe perfected his jokester entertainment. Mom & dad put it all on the line for these boys. They lost their place in the church, but they found a place in the hearts of millions world wide. Brotherhood is not always easy, as I witness with my own sons, but the fraternity these boys share is unbroken. This documentary is a testament to their talent, their parents and their wives. Really beautifully done.

Soooo raw

I actually enjoyed watching this. It shows how these brothers started from nothing and were determined to reached to the top. It's very admirable. All the sacrifices they made to come together again. The unconditional love they have for each other as brothers and as a band.

If you love the Jonas Brothers, watch this
nkbennett14 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I felt so many emotions watching this! I felt pride seeing Nick go on Broadway, Joe having his song be a Hit, and Kevin being a father. Then I felt hurt for Kevin to be left out, sad for Joe for his favorite thing to end and Nick to feel pressure to be successful. You go on this rollercoaster and it's great. There are some bits that doesn't flow, but there is some beautiful editing. It was great watching this, I enjoyed my time and started a free trial just to watch it!

Worth your time
Gilmoregirl-5934016 June 2019
I was totally unprepared for how good this was going to be. I was a moderate fan of the Jonas Brothers years ago and thought it would be entertaining. This documentary was honest, transparent, informative, and touching. It's a story about family and growth, love and forgiveness. Extremely well done and worth watching.

What the hell is this!
berg-7453218 June 2019
If is was listening to the radio and a Jonas BroS song came on I would have no clue. And did not watch whatever this is. My only point is EVERYONE from high school athletes to glee club members to the most recognized superstars says the same thing and I am freaking tired of hearing it. And in the is case it's on amazon Prime every new episode of whatever or starting a movie I hear the same beginning nonsense "We weren't supposed to make out of Jersey" like they snuck by Nazi border patrol we the plans for D Day. You were people that could sing better then other people. To make it sound like you have escaped out of a North Korean detention center with grandma under one arm while simultaneously fighting hand to hand combat with the other is ludicrous. Nothing brave you could sing. More proof then ever that people who attain celebrity in the US are out of touch. But a little credit that like Dana Plato you didn't do porn or commit armed robbery and OD'd by 30 but I have no idea how old you are so hey that's something to shoot for you narcissistic little boys or I guess girls. Well done on keeping things in perspective. I wasn't supposed to type this but like you I powered threw the nonexistent barriers around me.

For being a fan since more than 11 years, it's the best the Jonas Brothers could have gived us. Seeing all the step they take and every step back. They needed to be separated to come back stronger. Thank you. I'm granted to be a fan of you guys for a decade and more to come!

Nostalgia at its finest
etakyzzilvuli19 July 2019
For anyone growing up in the early 2000s, this movie is a dream come true. It documents the history and hype behind the "Jonas Brothers." There is so much never-before-seen footage and so many revelations that we get to see take place behind the scenes. This is an honest piece of work that succeeds at giving it's adult viewers a taste of their childhood, and works to make any viewer relate to the brothers Jonas.

Candid, Gripping from start to finish
pramaj-130596 June 2019
I really enjoyed Chasing Happiness. The footage and story were brilliantly pieced together. It talked of the struggles to fame and the pressure on child artists. It does seem like the Jonas brothers were a phenomenon in their own rights. Agreed that it wasn't in the league of the beetles etc but none the less profound. It was candid, emotional and talked of a family's togetherness and never give up attitude. Kudos to the Jonas Brothers who show us time and time again the unwillingness of the human spirit to be defeated.

danielmelo-2508310 June 2019
I sort of missed the Jonas Brothers at the time they became famous, I was into a different kind of music back then but watching this documentary and learning about their amazing story of success, fame, family, love and perseverance turned me into a fan instantly and I can't wait to go see them perform live here in Miami in August! I'm glad to see them back together!!
