Unsurprisingly conservative, disgustingly religious
richieadler6 May 2022
Warning: Spoilers
It's disgusting how much this episode panders to the religious right. Cris is shamed by Deacon's wife because she's proud of the poly relationship in which she's participating. The shameful part is clinging to the religious superstitions that so much damage have done to the world. The particular superstition of the Deacons, Catholicism, postulates that all contraception is sinful, so they being that devoted is causing them endless economic suffering, because they're not allowed to plan how much their family should grow.

Given the history of the Catholic Church, I'd say the Deacons have more to be ashamed of, than Cris. (But she accepted being grandmother of one of the children and she's Latina, so I'm afraid she shares in their superstition.)

I would have loved to see Cris explicitly abdicate her role as grandmother and leave the party, and showing a more strained relationship with Deacon in the following episodes.

Another Episode Ruined By Left Wing Demonization of Conservatives
WYAdams1 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This was a fairly decent episode until the writers derailed it with their left wing demonization of conservatives. Just once, I would like to see conservative Christian values cast in a positive light instead of this unending barrage of negative stereotyping.

The reason for this rating are the final scenes of the program. At the party, Chris can't just tell Deacon's daughter that her two guests are friends, oh no, she has to go into a whole brainwashing speech about her perverted lifestyle. Deacon's wife, a conservative Christian confronts her and tells her that she does not want her children exposed to this kind of propaganda, which she has every right to do. Deacon shows up after the confrontation and vows to "talk to her." The implication being that she is morally wrong for wanting to protect her children from exposure to lifestyles that she finds morally objectionable. In other words she is cast as the villain, and it is up to Deacon to correct her. The scene ends with tears streaming from Chris's eyes, showing her as the poor victim of this woman's hateful speech.

Chris knows that Deacon's wife is a conservative Christian who is trying to raise her children with Christian values, so she should have known that her little speech would not have been acceptable, but she did it anyway. Any blowback she got was deserved and she should have been cast as the villain, not Deacon's wife.

This is the kind of left wing propaganda this show promulgates week after week. S.W.A.T. is fast becoming nothing more than a platform for social justice warriors and less about police work.

Freak show
mondeo_iplay15 January 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Sadly, also this show it's transforming on a freak show. I watch that for swat action, not for poly, moly, single ,multi, amorous or other kind of sexual orientation. Guys, you transform everything in a sexual soup. If I wan to see that kind of things I watch other things, pull yourself together and bring some action!!!
