DC Sandy Wilson is in a precarious position after Calum Dunwoody's death in custody. Calum rather die than talk.

Perez goes to Glasgow to find out more about Paul Kieran. The local contact DI Sam Boyd tells him that Kieran is more of a foot soldier than a general.

Pursuing some leads they come across a house that holds people that have been trafficked but Perez cannot find Olivia's daughter Zezi.

Perez's presence in Glasgow also puts his daughter Cassie in danger as she is trailed.

The episode gets a little bit preachy about people trafficking, however as Perez finds out there are bigger fish who might be involved here.

This has gotten so hackneyed

I loved this series when it started, but it really started to slide in season five. No cliche is left untapped, and people do things so stupid that you wonder how they manage to get dressed in the morning. I'mm looking in particular at you, Sandy, but at least you're not alone.

What happened to this show is that drama became the end goal, rather than the actual plot, and so you get an escape where miraculously just the wrong person comes by, or you have a family member threatened but of course don't actually tell her the details, because why would you do that when instead you can try bullying her into doing what you want?

Also, the stepdad is a dead-end plot device.

Just ugh.
