Honestly i really think this episode is perfect and it's actually very good when it comes to writing and animation and it's just really good. you can see how it's all makes sense now after watching this episode, why George wanted lahey out of the force and how the three musketeers became friends.

Sweet episode

Warning: Spoilers
A good episode even if it does mess with the continuity a bit. In the Christmas episode, it's revealed in the card from bubbles mum, that the boys knew each other before bubbles parents disappeared. She refers to Ricky as that boy who you help with his homework, and she suggests asking Julian about staying with him and his grandmother.

JPTremblays voice work is really good in these animated series and the character himself is better. The real Julian has got too whiney. The only fault with this ep is having Jay barachel doing a voice, because who wants to hear that screechy, nasal monstrosity ?

The Origin Story

This is not only the story of the first time the boys smoked hash together, it's also the story if how the characters originally became a trio.

This episode is a wonderful use of animation: going back in time. The ability to add in Jim Lahey with archive clips was great.

Warning: Spoilers
Around 13:00 of the episode I noticed there was Jason shooting freedom 35 bottles. The bottles was created by Bubbles when they grow up. So I don't Understand why that happened lol.

The Good Ole Days
scottsetchell3 April 2019
The boys reminisce about the day they met and smoked hash for the first time in 1978. Julian and Ricky save Bubbles from a bully. They walk home together and Bubbles' trailer is removed from the park. Bubbles notices one of his cats was shot with a pellet gun. They find the bully and with Lahey's help they get revenge. Without a home, Julian lets Bubbles and his kitties stay in his Grandma's shed.

This is the best episode of The Animated Series so far. Ricky's grammar is broken to the point he can't complete a sentence. Julian is respectful and open to letting Bubbles into their gang. We get to see Sam Losco when he's training to be a veterinarian, helping Bubbles with his cat for free. I hope they have more flashback episodes in the works because this was a great one.
