an average movie

I like the idea. It's about the youngsters who were born through the 1360s in Iran; while in addition, we encounter with the story of the next generation, Tala. The only remaining gold for those who miss out the opportunity of a good life.

However there are some issues in the story. For example, they go inside the store and take a look (for the first time) after renting it! Also Darya tells Leyla that she will be responsible for the money; but after that, Leyla ask Mansur to pay it back...

I think the idea for the film was great, but it was very badly written and made worse. This is one of those movies that Hollywood can use to imitate. But this does not mean that the capacity of Iranian cinema is not capable of making this film globally. The idea didn't go well with the screenwriter, which means that even though you want to know what the end of the story is, the process of the film will bother you. Not intentionally. The film is not a happy film, but it could have been shown better. It had at least two moral messages. From the beginning of the film, it was always in my mind that I think they are trying to create a problem in the story. And they were in a hurry. But the film was very well received in the Iranian media. I don't know, maybe I'm wrong.

A movie with very good actor's, which you expecting to sit and watch intersting movie but it is not what you expecting more times goes more you will realise it's kind of very far from reality. And I think because of horrible screenplay good actor's are acting very poor in this movie.

Warning: Spoilers
Anything from Iran has value as an indicator of what is happening in that country to put against the fake news and propaganda we are stuck with. TALLA / GOLD is pretty good on this level. It shows a group of friends leading unsatisfactory lives in Tehran. Unemployed or tied to unsatisfying jobs which don't allow them to put together savings, they decide to go into business together (think LA BELLE ÉQUIPE) setting up a Soup Restaurant. They hit bureaucratic hurdles and their financing involving ballet with the books runs amok - at which point the piece turns into a people smuggling melodrama.

Things are not helped by the fact that women in head scarves and bearded men tend to look the same (that's the idea) making the piece even harder to follow. This one has moments of conviction but it's mainly a curiosity.
