The Boys are celluloid Heroes
brooksrob131 March 2019
The animated versions of the shows characters is different but, it's not too hard to get used to...Of course; now they can do stunts and actions that are too difficult to reproduce live...Is it better than the live action..of course not...It's kind of a Brickleberry meets Maniac cop vs Drawn Together being raped by Archer...So; It's entertaining...:D...

It really doesn't matter; the guys pull it off...Watch it.

A good way to say goodbye to John Dunsworth
t-lalone631 April 2019
From the moment season 12 ended I had a feeling they were going to make an animated series (For obvious reasons )

It was very well done and I hope they continue with it. On that note I do hope that a season 13 of Trailer Park Boys does happen tho. It's fun to watch them animated but there's nothing like the three musketeers in the flesh.

A new take on the classic series
alphadarklite31 March 2019
Towards the end of the series, the live action Trailer Park Boys was beginning to lose some of its older season magic. With John Dunsworth gone, the idea to animate the series has probably saved the franchise.

Being animated, it allows them to explore story lines that would have otherwise been impossible, and really expands the show's horizons in that sense. I laughed more at the first episode of this series than I did in the whole of season 12.

If you're on the fence about it as I was before watching, give it a chance. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Wow!! As good as real people?!?!? Can it Be?? Amazing...Must see!!
kricul22 April 2019
I was completely blown away about how dead on this animation is to the real thing. Voices are exactly the same. The swearing, complete nonsense going on its historical. If you don't like this, you have zero sense of humor and should change the channel Decceent....Bubbles...omg...and his puppet is back!!

It's about time!
naythanf1 April 2019
The original show was extremely well done and most consider to be the live criminal version of family guy. Well to bring this to animation, amazing idea. The animated series was extremely well done and I felt like I was watching the same show.

Blasphemy boy needs to quit crying

Appropriate send off for a legendary character, Won't be the same without John Dunsworth, but they did a damn good job portraying the boys antics in animation, always a pleasure to watch.

Good, but NOT the Original
btaylor-794623 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I enjoyed the season. It is good. Ricky's tapeworm made me lose it, but nothing will ever compare to the guys doing the acting. I love Lahey and it sucks he is gone, but they could of done the same thing in the real world with CGI that they did in the animated show. What scares me is this is the "animated series" that started from where season 12 left off, which more than likely means the original series is done. I anxiously waited all year for a new season of the original series to come to Netflix, but I'm just not as excited about the animated series. It was great to send off Lahey with the glory he deserved, but it isn't something I can get excited for like I did with the real show.

I REALLY hope we get TPB Season 14...and soon.

Funniest TBP content in a while
dustinblomquist17 April 2019
I've been a huge fan of TPB for years and have watched the first 7 seasons multiple times. That being said, I've found myself losing interest over the last few seasons.

I love the animated series!! It has a ton of potential and I hope it continues. I could see this running for a long time. It's a breathe of fresh air in the series. They've frozen themselves in time and can be as creative as they want to be. I really think it's a brilliant platform to keep TPB going for years.

Well done boys!

Great idea

Warning: Spoilers
I loved it. Just finished watching the first season. Binge worthy. The only thing I could have done without is bubbles. His voice and anxiety is way over the top. Every other word is a curse word and that's fine because it's for adults but Ricky and Julian are cool. Still bubbles is annoying.

Does not do justice to the original
tmarlow-431861 April 2019
Honestly, a bit of a hackjob trying to squeeze out the last few dollars from TPB. Loved the original, but in this they've taken out all the best parts of the old show and replaced it with cheap jokes and over the top child humour. I think most of these other reviews are from the infamous IMDB review bots (ie companies selling x number of positive reviews) or 12-14 year old children. I say this because it's clear anyone who's watched the original would definitely have a very hard time getting behind this steaming pile.

Quite hilarious.

Warning: Spoilers
Having enjoyed the live-action series, I had solid hopes for the animated series, and it did not disappoint.

While they are able to do a lot more in the visual gags department than they ever would in the live-action version (In one episode, Corey drinks a variety of paint and then proceeds to sweat it out in rainbow coloring. It's ridiculous, but it's only a small part of the episode, and doesn't distract) the show is still grounded heavily in reality. Julian, Ricky, and Bubbles are the same characters they were in the series, they're just animated. Also, Randy has become an even more integral part of the show, and he plays off the leads excellently.

This is, IMO, a nice way to keep the franchise going, while essentially making the characters ageless. They can go 20 seasons in an animated series and still look the same as they did in season one. The plotlines, for the most part, are similar to what you'd see in the live-action version, with only a few taken to the animated extreme. Also, it's been fun to see the characters as children, which would have been impossible to do on the original series, without younger actors imitating.

The elephant in the room, of course, is the passing of long-time series regular John Dunsworth, who we sadly lost right before the animated series became a reality. Thanks to animation, (And I naturally assume with the full support of the Dunsworth family) Jim Lahey is still at the trailer park, through the use repurposed archival audio from Dunsworth's many years portraying the role. Lahey's spirit resides in, of course, a liquor bottle, and, as far as memory recollects, only interacts with Randy

The first couple of episodes were a little shaky, As would be expected. I'm sure his loss hit the cast hard. But the later episodes, and all of season two, used the Lahey character very effectively, so well that it really does seem like he recorded the new lines fresh. Also, I feel that his appearances are very tasteful. He's not in every episode, but he's in enough to still feel like part of the show, and it's very much a tribute to Dunsworth, and not an attempt to cash-in on Dunsworth's likeness. Dunsworth was always an integral part of the show, and thanks to the animated series, he still is.

I've watched both seasons, and am looking forward to future seasons. It's a riot.

Top notch
philip-dillon7 April 2019
Didn't think this would work. But damn it sure does. After the second episode you will be hooked and its well worth a serious binge watch. Animation is decent and the storytelling is as solid as ever. We even get to see the boys as kids...All your favourite characters are in it, even including a few surprises ones. I hope they're more seasons commission as a second season is a must...I can't imagine any longterm fans, not loving seeing the boys story continued

Was worried at first 😯 but this really works

It is essentially TPB season 13. I enjoyed as much as the show. They are in a cartoon universe and test it's boundaries, which are grounded pretty much in the Sunnyvale we know and love.

Terrible. Uninspired, lazy excuse for a new "season"
ryanpainter13 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Warning: Spoilers for the first 2 episodes.

It seems as though even the boys themselves have given up on this show, as they couldn't even be bothered to do a live action season and it's just sad what we were given instead. What was once beloved to me, to the point I'd watch the new episodes as soon as they aired, has sunk to a new low. This show ended perfectly after season 7, and they should've left it at that, but clearly they just wanted more money as this show has no heart anymore, and they just recycle jokes that were never funny in the first place. Now we are given this rediculously bad cartoon, with horrible voice acting (they even went as far as to take Mr. Lahey's voice from previously aired episodes, and use them as dialogue) and it's just hard to watch as one line he is talking normal, the next drunk, and the tone of his voice is all over the place, it's offputting to say the least. The plots are rediculous (on the second and frankly last episode for me, I really tried to like it) and so far Jacob broke his neck to the point his head is on backwards, Corey lost his arm, and had it sewn on by Sam Losco, of course, who apparently had his male parts bitten off by a bear, and would only sew the arm on if one of the boys "fingered the hole" so he could get relief, which Ricky does, apparently using Corey's severed arm. Then Ricky gets a tapeworm by apparently eating week old burgers out of Randy's trash, and decides to keep it as a pet when it is removed.. this comes complete with a montage of him, Mo (Trinity's kid named The Motel because apparently someone thought that was funny) and the tapeworm playing ball and Mo skipping using said tapeworm tied to a tree. Then, apparently, after Ricky sleeps with a woman the tapeworm decides to climb into her mouth while she is sleeping, and latches on to Ricky's, shall we say, pepperoni stick, while they are having some fun together. Do you think I made this up? I didn't, I don't know how anyone could come up with something so stupid. Do you find this summary funny? Then by all means, check out what's left of the Trailer Park Boys. I, for one, am done with this cartoon, and frankly, this show in general. This is the worst thing I have ever seen, and if you loved the older TBP episodes, I highly suggest just rewatching them, because you can never unsee this garbage. I'd rate it 0/10 if I could. I don't know how anyone, high or not, would find this funny. I also don't understand how it has a rating of almost 8/10 on here.. nostalgia maybe? Seriously, just end this show already.

Some of their best content in years.
shackaholic19798 April 2019
Going to an animated format sure does allow them to do some things that they would never be able to do in a non-animated version. Let's face it, most of the storylines in the regular version are some out there, far fetched stuff. By losing the restrictions of non-animated versions, they are allowed to really let their imaginations get carried away, resulting in some of their best content in a long time.

A refreshing start
amandassketches22 June 2019
The other reviews referring to how much cursing and lame jokes there are must not have watched the whole series. This animated series hit the nail on the head on what made TPB so lovable. All I had to do was watch the first 5 minutes and I was laughing. I told my boyfriend about it, who got me into watching TPB, and he seemed hesitant at first. He's not a fan of animated shows to begin with so I told him to just watch 1 episode. Guess who wants to keep watching?

The boys are still hanging strong.

It's a modern day Bevis and Butthead meets TPB. I was halfway through the first episode when I found myself a little embarrassed at the fact I was enjoying it so much. Sure it's raunchy and disturbing, but what else would you expect from TPB?

A breath of life in a slowing show.
dmburkhart11 April 2019
I'm on my 2nd go round on season 1 of the animated series.. and I can say it's almost as good as the live action series. Many times I watch the show before bed to help wind down, or while playing on my phone.. so hearing all the voices in the background is exactly the same for me. One big positive over the live show is they were really able to push the boundaries on what they were able to do.. they were able to be way over the top and absurd. I loved it. Over all I really liked this season. I like how they handled the send off for John Dunsworths character. Hopefully, since it's an animated series now, they can put out more than one season per year. If they do, I will watch it for sure. I highly recommend the episode "Pepperoni Cobra".
