Fairly intense story about troubled teens
phd_travel24 January 2020
The title isn't quite accurate. It's a story about a teenage girl adopted by a caring couple who look after troubled and runaway teens. Someone seems out to get her. It takes some time to find out why. It's a fairly intense by LMN standards tale about troubled teens. The girl acts well. Usually like the TV movies with Alexandra Paul.

Friendship and Family at the Haven Teen Shelter
lavatch8 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
A former runaway from a "group home," seventeen-year-old Taylor Stewart has discovered a loving family with James and Sandy, who run the Haven Teen Shelter. But the past comes back to haunt Taylor in a sordid plan by a deranged grandma to retaliate for the death of a little boy.

The diabolical granny Marnie has manipulated her grandson Miles into stalking, kidnapping, and making an attempt on the life of Taylor. Little Ronny has escaped the clutches of Granny Marnie and was befriended by Taylor. But when they became sparated, Ronny took his life. Granny Marnie blames Taylor and seeks vengeance.

There was a gritty style to the filmmaking that captured the daily struggles of disenfranchised youngsters on the streets. The theme of family is underscored in the happy home provided to Taylor, who refers to Sandy and Larry as "Mom" and "Dad." One of our favorite actresses, Alexandria "Lifetime" Paul, plays the role of Sandy with great sensitivity.

Another interesting character in the film was young Clu, who takes a liking to Taylor. It was unfortunate that Clu was written out of the script after being dispatched by Miles. The police are hopeless in protecting Taylor and her parents with Detective Salzner offering the innocuous advice to Taylor "to get a good lawyer" after she and her friend Danger ("D") were only defending themselves from one of Miles' brazen attacks.

A wise adage used by Taylor's dad Larry was "You can't win every time, but you won't lose forever." Taylor and her parents come up winners in their love for one another and deeply felt family values.

Good Lifetime Movie

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this last night and really enjoyed. It's so nice to see a Lifetime movies with such good acting (a lot do not). I especially liked the lead role of Taylor. I had never seen her before and will now look for some of her other roles. Anything with Alexandria Paul and Linden Ashby in it will be a good movie. I also enjoyed all the skateboarding scenes.
