- Andy probes possible connections to her mother, including an inmate and a pharmaceutical CEO. Despite lingering threats, Laura looks for a way out.
- We get more insight into what happened during the Oslo economic forum that ultimately resulted in Martin Queller's (Terry O'Quinn) murder. The original plan was intended to be non-lethal. Nick (Joe Dempsie) and the Army of the Changing World only wanted to humiliate Martin. The cult kidnapped the real Professor Alex Maplecroft-an outspoken critic of QuellCorp who has written several books about Martin's seedy business practices, even going so far as to compare it to the Third Reich-and replaced her with a woman named Grace Juno (Catherine McClements), a widow whose husband was prescribed a heavy dose of Haldol, a drug QuellCorp heavily invests in. He ended up murdering their three children as a result, and now Grace has a vendetta against Martin and the company. Plus, she looks enough like the real professor to make the perfect patsy for the Army of the Changing World. The plan was for Grace to infiltrate the conference disguised as the professor, get on stage, and use money outfitted with a detonator to blow up onstage and douse Martin in fake, symbolic blood. Of course, as we know, things don't go according to plan. Grace ends up pulling a gun on Martin and murdering him in front of everyone.
Andy makes her way to the Texan prison, where she hands an officer her fake identification and is let inside. She waits for Paula (Genevieve Hegney), who is escorted to her. Paula notices that she is not Sheila and Andy says that she wants to talk to her as a reporter. Andy hurries and asks if she knows her mother. Paula says that she does not know her, but does not answer until she sees the picture with the large cut on Laura's back. Paula asks if she had been sent to check up on her and tells her to tell Jane (Jessica Barden) to go to hell, who she would find and kill. Paula doesn't provide much other valuable intel except leading Andy to realize Laura Oliver is actually Jane Queller, sister of politician Jasper Queller and daughter of Martin Queller!
Laura wakes up and is greeted by Charlie, who tells her to go upstairs when she is ready. Andy looks up the last name Queller and finds that Jasper Queller (David Wenham) would be in Texas soon. Looking up the name Jane, she sees that she was Jasper's brother. She goes to look at Jasper's autobiography and finds pictures of her mother there. Andy sees Michael parked in front of her, so she gets in her car and starts driving away. However, Michael has a GPS tracker on her and follows it through a narrow alley where she was parked. He gets out of his van and approaches Andy's car. She is not there, but he is surprised when she shows up behind him with a gun pointed towards his back.
Andy confronts Michael and, he reveals that he is a U.S. Marshal Michael Vargas (Jacob Scipio). He tells her that both she and Laura were in witness protection. She tells him to go with her into a restaurant, and they sit down. he says that she has been in protection for her entire life because there were dangerous people after them. He admits to not knowing all the details and was only there to assist, so she tells him that Jasper was holding a private fundraiser in El Paso the next day and wanted to get in. He tells her that he would try to get her in, but is not able to promise it would happen.
Charlie tells Laura that Andy had visited him, saying that her whole world is turned upside down and had told him about Laura's suitcase full of money and the man that had broken into their house, may have been Nick. Charlie introduces Felix, who tells her that they would be relocated immediately since it was too big a risk to stay in Belle Isle. She says that she would not start over again since they only wanted her protected so that she could be the star witness at Nick's hearing, which would not be possible since he is dead. Charlie says that she does not know that and admits nobody had seen him since Clara was killed. He shows her pictures of a dead woman and tells her that Nick's DNA had been found at the scene of the crime. Felix tells her that her whole life had been payed by the government, but she tells him that she had given up everything and blames Charlie for not having been able to catch Nick, which she suggests is the reason behind his heart attack. Charlie tells her that they have new information and would think about letting her see it.
In flashback, At one of Andy's birthday parties, Gordon and Laura celebrate that she has friends. Charlie makes it to the party and wants to talk to Laura. He tells her that Clara was killed, but she says that he would get away like he always does. Charlie adds that Clara's wallet was also stolen, which meant Nick could also have Laura's home address, so they needed to move her. Laura looks at Andy, but nods understandingly. She asks if Gordon needed to leave his firm, but Charlie assures her that they would find work for him outside of law practice.
In a car, Michael drives Andy, who reads that Michael's friend had gotten them into the fundraiser. Michael says he was not supposed to make contact with Andy and just observe because her mother is a valued witness. He tells her that the Marshals had sent him there since Charlie Bass had not been able to make it. Andy asks what being "lead" on a case meant, to which he responds that Charlie had been working with her mother since she entered the program.
Felix and Charlie show Laura pictures of people crossing into Canada illegally and ask if anybody looks like Nick. Laura tells Charlie she wants to leave the program, which he refuses, since she would also be putting Andy's life at risk. Laura tells him Nick is dead and wants the papers immediately. Andy and Michael make it to a hotel room, where he tells her that they are five hours away from El Paso. Michael says that he does not feel comfortable leaving her on her own and asks for his gun back. Michael remembers that she is an artist and tells her that he knows a bit about her hobbies, work and the fact that she hooked up with her mother's male nurse. He asks what she was doing for her mother, wondering how she knew about the storage unit. Andy tells him that she does not even know who she really is, so she would not be talking it out with her.
In the night, Michael wakes up and leaves the room, calling and telling someone that he was with her. He asks what he should do with her and walks back into the room. When he walks inside, he sees a man choking her and muffling her cries for help, so he defends her. As the two men fight, Andy leaves the room and runs, followed by a car. She makes it to a fence, but is reached by Michael, who tells her that he had her. She hugs him and he tells her to breathe. After that, Andy kisses him passionately.
Charlie greets Laura and joins her for a smoke, asking her when she stopped trusting him. She says that has nothing to do with it, but he asks her not to lie since there was no better time for him to help her. He offers to move her to Paris or Vienna, saying she is very stubborn. He tells her that he has spent more time with her than with his own family, but she says that nothing worked for her. She asks him to let her go, so he tells her that the paperwork would be there in a while and to talk to Felix if she needs anything. In Flashback, Jane (Laura) talks to Andrew (Nicholas Burton) Queller (Jane's and Jasper's brother in the late 1980s), who has a new roommate named Nick Harp. The boy describes Nick as different and says that she would not like him, but love him.
Jasper Queller describes his father as challenging, but says that he misses him. At his democratic campaign, he mentions what he has done in his father's name so that their family would be looked at differently. Off stage, he thanks everybody and is approached by Andy, who asks him for an autograph out to Jane Queller. Looking at her, he says that she looks like her, so she asks if they could talk. Jasper asks his assistant to escort her and she is taken to a room where Michael is not allowed entry. He lets it slide and takes a seat outside.
In the room, Andy reveals her name, which makes Jasper realize she was named after Andrew. She tells him that Laura is okay, and he says that he cannot imagine everything they have been through, giving her a hug. HE asks where she has been all those years as she cries.
Outside, Michael gets impatient, but sees a man running, recognizing him as the man who had attacked Andy at the hotel room. He follows him down some stairs, but loses him. As he runs back to the room where Andy was at, he sees that she was no longer there, finding her phone on the couch. In the past, Charlie takes pictures of Laura with her wounds, as she hands over her identification to enter the witness protection program. In the present, Laura signs Jane Queller and does not listen when Charlie tells her not to. After that, Charlie hands her her original identification. Andy walks with Jasper, who is glad that she was joining him.
