- During an intense confrontation, Andy comes to a frightening realization. A closer look at the horrific events in Oslo brings more truths to light.
- Nick tells Jane that he saw her interview and had been keeping up with her. Jane wants to make things right between them, saying that she could give him what he wants in exchange for being left alone. She offers to let him own Jasper (who will be the next VP of USA) and Nick asks where they should meet, to which Jane replies that the last place where they had seen each other. As Jane drives, she sees a text message, which says that she should take better care of their daughter.
Andy sits down and is handed a cup of coffee by Nick, who tells her that there had been an accident where she had hit her head very hard. She asks where Charlie is and Nick says that he was taken to a hospital. Andy asks about Clara, who Nick says is long gone, handing her a jacket. Nick knows that it must be a shock to see him and Andy asks if he loved her mother. Nick says that he did and Andy hands her the photo of Laura hurt. He says he is sorry that happened, he did not know that Jane was pregnant until he finally saw her. Andy remembers him from the woods and Nick says that he did not take her with him, but that was no way for a child to live. Andy says that she had lived in hiding her entire life and she now knows what he did. She tells Nick that she knows he hurt people but he says that he never wanted anyone to die. He tells her that she is part of a wealthy and corrupt family, saying that she would have to choose sides.
Jane parks at the house and takes the suitcase out of the car. She places it on the ground and Nick approaches her, kissing her forehead and hugging her. Nick tells Andy about her mother's past. Andy asks if they were going to take the money and run off together, which shocks Jane. Nick tells Jane that he sometimes remembers being with her, asking if Andy did not remind her of him, but Jane says that she does remind her of him. Andy sees that Nick has a gun as he asks Jane when she knew she was pregnant, and Jane says that she had not told him, remembering when she found out.
Nick knows that Andy disapproves of him because she thinks he ran a cult, but he believes that family is a cult. He slams the suitcase on the table and looks through it, ignoring the money. He asks Jane where it is and starts losing his temper until he finds a tape. Andy asks what the tape is as Nick plays it for them. In it, Nick tells Jasper that he would take over the company, but needed to get Alex Maplecroft invited to Oslo. Jasper says that he does not want things to happen that way, but Nick goads him by saying that Martin might select Jane to run the company, if left to his own choices.. Jane says that she did not know that Jasper was involved until much later, so Andy asks Nick if he wanted to blackmail his way to a pardon but he is still not very sure. Jane says that now he has what he wanted, but he says that he wanted to see her because there were things he wanted to know, saying that he had not given Grace the gun in Oslo. Jane she says that she is aware that he knows what happened to Charlie, as he was the one who crashed into Charlie's car and left him to die.
Andy makes a rapid movement, starting a fire and trying to overpower Nick, but he shoots her in the arm and tells Jane to not move. As he tries grabbing the tape, Jane tries to sneak up on him, but is pushed back by him. The fire starts choking them and Andy calls for Jane, who is still looking for the tape. She manages to grab it and they exit the house. Jane runs through the woods, chasing after Nick and shooting him as he tries to run away. Nick finally stops and tells her to shoot him since he knew she had wanted to do it for a long time. Suddenly, US Marshals reach the area and tell her to drop the weapon.
Andy thanks Gordon for being there with her, unable to believe that Charlie was dead. Gordon admits that he used to resent Charlie for knowing more about his wife and says that he read everything, but still does not understand everything. Gordon asks Andy if she wants to change her name because her mother was now legally a Queller. However, Andy does not want anything from them, but Gordon tells her not to avoid her mother.
Jane tells a lawyer that she would say anything against Nick, who would be taken to a super-max prison. Jasper approaches Jane and asks how Andy is, but Jane knows he only wants to know about the tape. She tells him that everything had burned in the fire and adds that Nick would probably get away with everything, but Jasper reminds her that he is responsible for the death of a US Marshal and their father. She wants Jasper to find out what Nick is telling his lawyer, which Jasper cannot believe.
Andy rides her bike and goes to the Belle Isle restaurant where everything started for her. After that, she goes and sees Michael waiting at a lake for her. He apologizes and says that he is not there for work, thanking her for saving his life because she had started CPR after he was injected by the woman. He says that he would be going to DC because internal affairs would be talking to him about what he had done. She says her arm is doing fine, but still has trouble sleeping. She says that she is picky about her stalkers and he says that they could go get dinner once he got back, but she asks for some time.
Jane looks through her closet and starts removing her clothes, throwing them all inside a garbage bag and taking them to the trash. Andy walks into her mother's room and tells her that they have not talked. Jane says that she believed Andy might need time, but says that they could talk if she wanted. Andy asks why she had wanted to see Nick, to which her mother responds that she wanted him to leave them alone, needing him to get out of her head. Jane says that she would get angry and ask herself what Laura would do and Andy tells her that Laura was real to her. Jane tells Andy that all her years with Gordon and Belle Isle would not be gone and wonders if knowing the truth was better. Andy says that she feels better knowing who her father is, but Jane wishes that she had never met him. Andy realizes that her mother is angry for having stopped her from killing Nick in the woods, to which Jane responds that Nick has nothing to give her, but Andy says that she did not do it for Nick, but for her.
Jane walks into a piano store, asking for a specific model and starts playing it hesitantly, crying as she keeps playing. She starts playing more confidently afterwards.
Andy draws, replicating a photo of Jane and her brothers as her mother walks into her room. Jane tells her her real birthday, also mentioning where she had been born. Andy asks her mother if she had ever thought of leaving her with Clara and Jane says that she had because she did not deserve her. Andy says that she does not need protecting anymore. In the past, Jane sits down at a bar, asking Grace why her morning sickness lasted all day. Both of them talk and Jane tells her about how her father was trying to get rid of her baby. She hands Grace a gun and tells her that she is afraid of him because he took everything from her. Grace agrees with her, telling her to take care of her daughter.
Andy wakes up in the middle of the night and texts Michael, who calls her. Andy asks about her mother's WITSEC report. Andy says she has been thinking about Grace Juno, wanting to know if she had left a suicide note. Michael says that it was clear that she blamed QuellCorp, so Andy keeps asking, wondering if anyone beside her mother had seen Nick hand her the gun, but Michael says that the whole case had been built on what her mother had seen. Andy realizes that her mother had switched the bag that Nick had given to Grace. In flashback, we see Jane telling Grace that Martin takes everything and nobody ever stops him. Grace understands and implicitly agrees to do what needs to be done. Unbeknownst to her, her call was being monitored from the Queller home.
As Jane sleeps, she gets a call. She answers it and Jasper tells her that there would be an announcement soon, where he would be presented as Senator Sheperd's running mate. Jasper says that he took her advice on Nick and says that he had talked a lot about what she did. He says that he never understood her, but knows they are family. Jane asks what he wants, and Jasper says that he would be in touch.
Andy exits her room, walking up to her mother's room and seeing it empty. She hurries downstairs and runs outside to the beach. There, she sees Jane staring at the ocean, who asks her if she is okay. Andy says that she thought she was gone, but Jane says that she had had trouble sleeping. Jane says that she had not wanted to move to Belle Isle, but when they arrived, she saw the ocean for the first time and ran into the water.
