I commend this film, with it's micro budget, it has high ambitions, and while it's script is needlessly jumbled and confusing, there are several things I'm not sure if they were inconsistencies or confusion from bad writing. I thought the lead actress/director did well, the lead actor was okay, his inexperience showed, he seemed nervous, but he's cute and it wasn't painful to watch. The story is simple, though there is a sort of twist, I won't run it. This is really a movie about regret and making things right, as are the majority of time travel films. I enjoyed the story and this movie overall, I thought it was a great first effort.
I do believe the method of time travel used here is unique, and it is quite interesting(I've watched nearly every time travel movie I've heard of) , but unfortunately it has mediocre writing sometimes, other times it is well-written, it can it get very confusing. The pacing is very uneven as ell, which doesn't help, it really drags in some places. I felt there were just too many scenes that were slow, it could have been tightened up a bit.
The cinematography, however, is actually quite good. I rarely see tracking shots used and I especially hardly see them, if ever, in a micro budget film. This is one of the best aspects of the film, there are some fantastic tracking shots. Whoever filmed this deserves some recognition here for it. The sound is well done, the lighting is good, hard to believe this movie really only cost $5,000 . I'm impressed in terms of the technological aspects, and unlike most movies with a budget this small, it rises above its tiny budget on sheer ambition. It has ambitions as both a science fiction film, but also being one from a female perspective with a nice story about regret, which we see occasionally, but not enough. I liked it despit it's flaws.
My only big complaints are the pacing, which Is an editing issue, and some confusing script writing. Were it not for that, I would recommend this pretty highly, but given those flaws, I can only give it a soft recommendation.
