Too-notch once again!
Robi194614 October 2022
You won't find any quick cuts to the action if you're familiar with anything that Adkins has been a part of.

The stakes have been significantly increased in Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday. There is no such thing as "too much action" in this movie, as the director takes advantage of every opportunity to add an original battle sequence into the mix of events. This is a very funny movie, which is of equal importance. As a result of this eccentric cast of individuals, the movie is lively and amusing. There are times when you will find yourself chortling and laughing out loud.

So, as an Adkins fan, i love this one too much.

Are you not entertained? I was!!

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the movies in reverse order, starting with number 2, then number one. Prior to today, I have no idea this movie even existed. As it turns out, it was pretty entertaining. I've never heard of Scott Adkins, but he did a great job and kept me entertained the entire movie. I also love Perry Benson's support role, he was funny and kept the story clean.

On a Sunday afternoon, this type of lightly funny crime and martial arts movie was just what I needed.

I will admit, the character Dante Zuuzer got on my nerves, but that's what he was supposed to do, so I would argue George Fouracres did a great job.

I really enjoyed the role of Sarah Chang as Wong Siu-ling, I love the fact that she existed mostly as a way to punish himself due to guild from part one of Accident man and how it ended with the killing of his workmates.

It was awesome to see Big Rays role as well, after watching part one, I was able to see how he was defined and why he was angry. I would argue the Accident Man duo is a must watch. Don't got in expecting a serious movie, walk in expecting great fight scenes and fun characters and you'll have a blast.

A decent sequel with some funny bits
strindbergman15 October 2022
I enjoyed this movie. Not the best action movie, not even amongst Scott Adkins's best, but still a fun watch. The first movie was a nice surprise when I saw it, and I didn't know there were going to make a sequel, so there goes another nice one.

Accident Man was a violent, well-choreographed martial arts thriller film, with some dark humour hints here and there, but the sequel is more of a comedy, making fun of buddy movies, secret agencies flicks such as 007 or Mission: Impossible and the like. It's like a spoof of many clichéd movies but still they were trying to make an original story and not a collage of previous actioneers.

Overall I think the first one was better than this sequel, but AC2 - Hitman's Holiday is a decent, funny, not too smart but not too dumb, reasonably enjoyable martial arts action flick that goes to show not every action flick is unworthy of your precious time. Watch it with a beer and some popcorn or chips and most of all, with an open mind and not expecting too much of it.

Even killers need mates
nogodnomasters3 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The film opens with a killer clown ( Beau Fowler) attacking Mike Fallon (Scott Adkins ) teaser. It shows us one overblown hit as Mike retreats to his centrally located abode in Malta. Here the film copies the "Pink Panther" Cato Fong home attack with Sui Ling (Sarah Chang) who had some good lines and was able to steal scenes. Mike runs into fellow assassin Finicky Fred (Perry Benson) and they end up working together as there is a lot of work on Malta. Their world gets turned upside down when a large contract is placed on Dante Zuuzer (George Fouracres) the crybaby son of the Greek mafia crime boss Mrs. Zuuzer (Flaminia Cinque). Mike is placed in a position to guard Dante against a league of assassins or else Fred dies. One of the paid assassins is Big Ray (Ray Stevenson) Mike's dad. To make matters worse Dante swallows a tracking device. Mike ends up facing the assassins one at a time.

The film is an action comedy. Not Ryan Reynolds or Samuel L. Jackson funny, but fun enough to be lumped as a comedy. During the film they set up a lab that reminded my of "Myth Busters." With the first assassin attacker Freya Du Preeze (Zara Phythian ) there were more phantom hits than a Clay vs. Liston bout. (I finally got to use that metaphor!!!) After that it got better. Good popcorn film.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Ok
medopop-7936715 October 2022
Written down, the setup may sound a bit labored, but rest assured that the film flies though the premise-setting and always gives the elaborate fighting, shooting, and twisting sequences priority. Directed by George Kirby and Harry Kirby, the brothers establish their own distinctive style in the action sequences, different from Jesse V. Johnson's ace direction on the first film.

Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday looks quite good, especially compared with its budgetary counterparts in the action-movie sweepstakes. Audiences don't care what your movie cost, they just want to make sure that the movie is worth their investment in time and the cost of a ticket or legal download.

On that score, Scott Adkins and the entire filmmaking team bring entertainment value in abundance to the screen.

A thriller with no thrills
eziukwuuprightness23 October 2022
Accident Man 2 starts off well but unfortunately did not live up to my expectations following how good Accident Man is.

The fighting scenes looks clearly choreographed, fake and slow. I feel like, to make a fighting scene look authentic, you need to hastening the sequence. This would hide some of the flaws in the fight.

I wonder why Sui-ling was always pointing. There was no sync between her words and her body movements, no emotion at all.

The film also include lots of fights. I think there is a scene where they fight for 7 minutes straight. The only fight scene I enjoyed was that of Yendi and Mike. That was probably the best fight scene in the movie.

I wasn't pleased with the performances of the actors and actresses.

The only actors performance I was pleased with is that of Dante (George). He was childish as can be, added lots of emotions to his portrayal.

I really enjoyed his role. The only issue I had with his role was that there was a disgusting scene he had to play. I almost threw up, I wasn't expecting that.

A Generous 7 for some excellent martial arts...
volcaniccustard-021239 November 2022
As someone who finds the Marvel and DC universes time killers as opposed to anything to admire, I do long for talented artists to redeem the severely tired/cut and paste action genre. Scott Adkins is one such talent who I keep hoping will find a little niche to demonstrate something worthy, but he is constanty let down by the material/budgetary constraints as opposed to the fight scenes.

Here the material is definitely a step in the right direction, even if the jokes often missfire. However, when it hits (and it is largely puerile banter), it brings more than a smile. The story is kinda cool in a context of never standing still to allow the brain to engage for too long.

And the fight scenes are just so much more entertaining (for me) than watching another superhero blasting another super villain to hell and back...and then hell and back again (rinse repeat). Scott Adkins (along with the other great martial artists in this movie) is surely due a sparky script, quality direction, and a feisty, tongue-in-cheek stage (catering for his acting ability) to bring his martial arts skills to a general public that I believe would soak it up. This isn't that movie, even if those boxes are lightly ticked in pencil. Very encouraging, and hopeful that his next movie raises the bar further.

There was another one before that?
Marcelo-Perroni9 February 2023
I watched as Accident Man - Hitmans Holiday. Didn't know it was a sequel.

What a waste of money to make such a horrible movie!! And a waste of my time, and everyone who tries watching it!!

Horrible acting, even more horrible directing! Plot was decent, but poorly executed!!

It just makes me wonder who reads that script and thinks it would be a good idea to be part of that project.

Well, it's a paycheck, I guess.

So, don't wast your time and most of all, don't waste your money on this thing.

I can't get that hour and a half back, so, I can only try to warn others.

Well, at least Malta is a beautiful place... There's that...

For what it is, it's pretty good!
daisukereds28 October 2022
This works as a standalone movie, as it takes the time to put you up to speed with a quick summary that doesn't get in the way of the story.. even if there isn't much of a "story" anyway. What it has, is a fun situation between killers.

The movie writers at least had the decency and care to give a decent personality to the characters portrayed on screen, and provide a basic framework for the movie to happen organically. The dialogue doesn't match the impeccable quality of camera-work and stunts, but that's not what you are here for! Classical Assassin tropes and a Boss-Rush as the meat and potatoes. Would easily recommend to anyone that watched the trailer and thought "looks kind of bad, but fun".

If you just like fighting, ok for this. Nothing more
Didier-Dirk-Brackx4 December 2022
If you really like Scot Adkins fighting, then you get enough time to view this. Although there is no real story than to protect someone to save his best friend. Some James Bond stuff you will see and how inventive they are in killing but story is really bad. So I give it a 4-star rating because of the fights. Also the filming is not really well: they stay very long in a certain location were you see several fights. Stupid fight with a clown: he got hit so hard over and over again and still he is able to fight back !

There are better movies than this one. So don't really spend your time on watching this unless you have drunk a lot of beers!

As Dumb as a movie gets
kuner-5902917 October 2022
I hadn't seen the first film and only knew Scott Adkins from badly acted low budget action thrillers where you constantly skip ahead to the next fight scene, because everything in between is just atrocious.

This film however is just pure bonkers from beginning to end. Every character except the accident man himself is and over the top caricature. The story is about as stupid as can be and doesn't have any pretention about being anything other. There's no moral here, no statement about human nature or current affairs, no attempt at gritty realism, it's just a beavis and butthead style avalanche of insults, fart and poop jokes and pure idiocy.

Just one example (not a spoiler since it's more or less seen in the trailer): Scott Adkins has to save the idiot son of a mafia family, who for no reason whatsoever decides to swallow the tracking device the bad guys use to track him. Adkins drags the idiot who's wearing a rabbit costume and covered in the first assassin's blood into a pharmacy, force feeds him laxatives only to later have closeup shots of the idiot pooping, and of the tracker covered in diarrhea. What the actual f... ?

The fight scenes are completely ridiculous as well with the antagonists introduced in video game like manner. They are wonderfully choreographed with some great camera work. Lots of wide angle shots, no closeup shaky cam nonsense. With some shots I really wondered how they did it. CGI is used in some shots, and it looks terrible. They don't even try to hide it, which somehow makes it more acceptable. The soundtrack is appropriately noisy and goofy.

I'm not sure what to classify this movie as. Martial Arts Comedy? Martial Arts Spoof?

What I do know is I didn't feel the need to fast forward once, and that the fight scene were absolutely impressive and entertaining.

Turn your brain off and enjoy.

Solid Scott Adkins Action Film
PartTimeCritic26 February 2023
ACCIDENT MAN: HITMAN'S HOLIDAY (B-) Scott Adkins directed and co-wrote this guilty pleasure actioner that is essentially one of those generic hitman action films that Jason Statham and Liam Neeson make a living on. Adkins stars as the titular accident man who excels at making his assassinations look like accidents. He's recently settled in Malta, gained a partner in the game named Fred, and unfortunately gets looped into helping protect the spoiled son of a major crime ring from his mentor (Ray Stevenson) and a cadre of big named assassins looking for the payday. The movie plays out a bit like Hitman's Bodyguard with a desire to have a kind of Guy Ritchie/Quentin Tarantino like gangster patter. The structure of the film allows for several fight sequences in unique settings against unique assassin opponents. On this element, the film really exceeds in providing several high quality fights of varying styles. My personal favorite is a multi-stage fight against a female special forces type assassin that features a strong chemistry between her and Adkins. This is a classic low budget actioner that delivers on the action and does well enough in all the other categories to make it a classic guilty pleasure.

Embarrassing CGI
danielcereto15 October 2022
I love B-movies like the original Accident Man. It was a great little surprise full of action, dirty jokes and acceptable fighting choreographies. That's why I watched this one.

First, Accident Man 2 has almost nothing to do with the quality of the first one. The CGI is terribly cheap, the jokes are mostly bad, even the action scenes are still watchable.

Second, Scott Adkins has several great movies like Boyka or Ip Man. But here seems to overact everything consequently resulting in a extremely bad acting. Not to mention the partner.

Last, I didn't expect too much when I decided to watch this movie, but overall the result is worst than the first part.

Way better than I expected
sjarvis1415-360-1318912 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Having seen the first one, which I thought was an average film with some pretty sloppy editing in parts, this film came as a pleasant surprise.

PROS The H2H fighting scenes are good. Not an overabundance of jump cuts. The actions flows smoothly. The fighting moves look good. A few less high kicks would be good but it worked for me.

8/10

The humour. Somehow a lot of the humour in this actually landed for me. Scott made me chuckle in a few scenes with some fairly subtle delivery. No jokes but just reactions. Even the gang lady's son didn't bother me, and that character could definitely have been taken too far to the point of being incredibly annoying.

7/10

That one popped out eye. Wasn't really expecting Scott to pop out the eye of a lady he'd just been chatting it up with, even if she was trying to kill him. I couldn't help but laugh at the ridiculous amount of blood spray, too.

Funny/10

CONS Weapon-based combat. CGI blood splatters, a grenade going off in a guy's hands and just kind of knocking him back a bit. This was mostly rubbish. Totally made up for by the H2H stuff, though.

3/10

The special effects. The falling bathtub. The tasers to the neck? Anything like that looked awful. That final explosion. Oh no!

4/10

SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN Characters. Scott's guy is cool in this. The son is fine. The girl who keeps trying to beat up Scott is all right. Actually, now that I think about it there were no characters in this that stood out as being particularly annoying or off-putting. So I'd put the characters closer to a PRO. Could have used a bit more Ayumi probably.

6/10

Story is fine. Nothing spectacular. Not that we expected anything spectacular. Ends satisfyingly enough.

6/10

CONCLUSION After reading some pretty negative reviews about this, I went in highly skeptical and in desperate need of something to watch after seeing the Weird Al Movie and Clerks III. I'd say for pure fun-factor and enjoyability this one at least came close to weird al, and far surpassed Clerks III. Not a bad result.

I give it a 7/10! Keep it up Scott!

Pure nonsensical entertainment
FilmFarter18 February 2023
Don't watch this movie if you can't suspend belief.

Don't watch this movie if you're waiting for brilliant acting.

Don't watch this movie if you're expecting a deep plot line.

BUT if you like well-choreographed fight scenes that are over the top that include witty jabs amongst characters, then grab some popcorn and have a seat. Because you're in for a wild ride. The fact they pulled this movie off in a little over 3 weeks of shooting is a testament to how much prep went into each fight scene ahead of filming. It's impressive to think Scott Adkins worked through each and every fight scene in advance - because there are a ton.

If I could do away with one thing in this movie it would be the annoying mafia brat they have to protect. But the movie does have a nice conclusion which scratched my itch when it came to this maggot.

Warning: Spoilers
Ok the movie is just cheap the cgi is sooo bad and obvious the shoot scenes is bad and the most important thing the acting is horrible, the only good thing about this movie is the fighting scenes and that's all a poor version of the old movie the story on the other side is funny but not on the good way there are new characters I don't even know why they add them like the kong fu lady and others and yeah i almost forgot the villain I mean where is the villain exactly? The old woman or the clown or the "big ray " who btw just appeared in like two scenes also if you looking for a worthless end guess what it's in this movie.

Not the TV, it's 8K!.....
FlashCallahan5 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The Accident Man is back, he's on holiday, angry because he can't get Maltese's, and this time he must beat the top assassins in the world to protect the ungrateful, and really really annoying son of a mafia boss.

And while he's at it, he must also save the life of his only friend Perry Benson from all those BBC sitcoms and rekindle his relationship with his maniacal father figure, the much missed Ray Stevenson.....

The Accident Man films are the 'Crank' of Scott Adkins career. They are stupidly bonkers, full of colourful characters, and do not let up until the film has finally finished. And this pretty much much follows the same course as the previous film.

It's like watching a graphic novel on screen at times, and the best thing about the film is that it knows that it has its tongue firmly in its cheek. Our titular hero is on some sort of sabbatical, and before you know it, he's back in the game, fighting all sorts of assassins who get their own introductions, and there own 'powers'.

Luckily, 'Man' has his own Kato, in the form of a woman who enters his house randomly and stars fights without him knowing, to keep him on form. Just like Peter Sellers and Burt Kwouk all those years ago.

It's not going to win Adkins any new fans, but I doubt he cares now, as he is now in the same league as Van Damme, Seagal, Dudikoff, and Norris were in the late eighties.

If you like those films, you'll lap this up.

No Laughs, No Fun, Just a Bleak 'Holiday'
prolead6 June 2023
Despite my open-minded approach to the film, I found myself severely disappointed. I was hoping for a refreshing take on British comedies, but alas, it was more of the same - dry, humourless and utterly tedious. British humour, it seems, is an acquired taste that I'm yet to acquire.

The narrative's attempts to weave comedic elements into the grim world of contract killing felt forced and insipid, lacking the witty punchlines or clever comedic timing necessary for such a unique concept. Instead of laughing, I found myself yawning, longing for a break from the film's droning banter and lacklustre dialogues.

Furthermore, the characters came across as one-dimensional, their eccentricities more annoying than endearing. Instead of eliciting chuckles, their quirky antics only added to the film's overall dreariness.

"Accident Man: Hitman's Holiday" is a stark reminder that blending comedy and crime requires finesse and flair, neither of which were present in this woefully misjudged film. In summary, if you're seeking a fun-filled, laugh-out-loud comedy, I'd recommend you look elsewhere.

Why?
geekoutmetal7 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Everything is enjoyable and interesting until the bodyguards of the dumb kid gets thrown a greanade and rather then throw it back looks at it for ages and wonders what to do with it.

1. I mean anyone who has seen any war movie knows there is a 2 second count at least before the thing blows up in your face. And of course it does.

2. A flash bang is thrown into the room. So, everyone looks at it. Blows up blinding everyone.

3. Another bodyguard pulls gun and points it at assassins head and says 'feeze'. This after she has shot thrown grenades, fired machine gun rounds, killed his partners, and yet, this dumb idiot thinks if he says freeze, she will put her gun down and wait nice for the cops. Or, worse get taken by Mrs Villain Mom to be tortured and killed.

I know writers have to create some tension but, for f's fake there are better ways of doing it than writing some stupid stuff that takes the viewer write out of the movie.

Seriously, at this point I don't even know if I should bother to watch the rest of the movie or, not.

The last one was very enjoyable as was this one until the night club target singing on the stage and then eating the tracker. Even that was a good move since we already got foreshadowing that the kid was a total moron.

But, we shouldn't think that guards that would sacrifice their own lives for Mrs Villain Mom would be this stupid.

All the good writing ruined up till this point. Someone should have edited the script just to make sure this didn't happen. Audience are smart not stupid as Hollywood has learned in 2022 by losing billions.

Worse than original
kirkendog21 February 2023
It appears Brits love this stuff but it's a fail for me, how can a Chuck Norris style hitman always have the most trouble when fighting a F or a clown? It loses all it's credibility on that alone plus the PC assassins.

Way too many over the top, unrealistic characters, no person on Earth acts like them:

1. China girl showing him how to fight, Adkins seems to have been paid off by China with some of the movies he's been in. Even F in China fight better than M everywhere else, pathetic.

2. Italian rich boy who should have been killed multiple times, he's so annoying I would have paid to have him killed.

3. Old lady to rich boy stating enough with the toxic masculinity, another L code word for anti-male while she acts like a male the entire movie, is that toxic femininity?

4. Clown - so ridiculous.

enjoyable, fun, good fight action, Cantonese swearing
schumy197515 October 2022
It started as silly movie but turned out to be quite enjoyable and entertaining.

The fighting is quite good, all the actors/stunts are good, some are even more realistic and synced than John Wick fights. Probably because the directors are stuntmen themselves, very pro, impressive.

The lead female Su-Ling is very entertaining, she speaks lots of HK Cantonese swear words with an American accent, very fun, 10/10!

Hope they will make a sequel, look forward to that.

The overall story is a bit silly and out of the world, which is fine, didnt look for a serious story arc anyway.

Very pleasantly surprised so felt like sharing it by writing a review on IMDB.

I never saw the first one
jami-imaj21 November 2023
Camera work is great, the lighting, sound, whatever locations they were at looked great, even back alleys and hallways, it all looked really good, I just didn't care for the acting. A lot of reviewers were saying how much they like Scott Adkins, I honestly don't know who that is, I really can't think of anything I've seen him in, I doubt that would make me like this movie more. I did think that Ray Stevenson was great, did a superb job, and looking through his career I've seen 7 other things he's done. One other critique would be that I'm not a fan of overchoreographed fight scenes, it looks too unnatural. I liked the ending.

NOT funny, while it desperately wants to be funny. The action is childish. The original was way better.
imseeg4 December 2022
The original movie was way better than this commcercial sequel.

The bad: what's most annoying about this sequel is that it desperately tries to be funny, with every other minute a silly joke, that is so painfully NOT funny that I got really annoyed by those stupid failed jokes. The original Accident Man was tough and while being tough it was occasionally really funny.

More bad: even the action sequences are childish and silly. Before the action was tough and ruthless. Now even the action has become a silly gimmick.

Better watch the original. The original was tough and exciting, with great vicious characters.

Wow They Did It Again!!!
damianphelps8 August 2023
Lightening can strike in the same place twice?

I loved the original. Was Accident Man 2 (zero points for a creative title) a cynical grab for cash on the back of the first film or was it a bonafede film that deserved to be made?

Apparently, based only on how much I like it, its a legitimate movie :)

Just as fun and entertaining as the original.

The action is first class and humour easily matches the first outing.

His 'training partner' is hilarious.

The Accident Man franchise is doing a lot to restore some value to the B movie actioner genre.

I am actually hoping they go to the well for a third time :)

Entertaining
angusking-3999823 April 2024
Brainless stuff but strangely entertaining. I Thought this was a better film than the first one. As the film drew to a close I was starting to get a little weary of the Kung-fu/maritial arts style fighting. There were a few gory scenes where our hero(?) dispatches his assailants and assorted bad guys. One in particular where he speared one through the head, pushing their eye out, and followed by a very realistic spray of blood. I thought by far the most interesting character in the film was 'Finicky Fred' played by Perry Benson. It would be possible to construct an entire film around his character.
