5,2/10. Watchable but not recommended

This is too depressing.

It's not a comedy- horror movie or a dark comedy. There are maybe some offbeat- comedy elements but it is not funny and the viewer will not laugh even for a second.

It's not even a horror movie but a really dark and depressing drama about deranged and immoral people. There are some kinda thrilling moments, actors are very good, but in the end, everything that happens it is hard to believe, ending is totally unsatisfying and it's difficult to enjoy this.

This is not an enjoyable movie. It's not bad, but i didn't like it.

If you are in the mood for a really dark and depressing movie disguised as a comedy horror, maybe you will like it.

Not bad for a low budget
deloudelouvain13 June 2022
Keeping Company is a bit low budget but it's certainly worth a watch. Some good laughs, decent acting, an interesting plot, and some mild horror, so overal an entertaining movie to watch. The director definitely liked the color red as almost everything is red, but it added something special to the vibe of this little horror movie. Maybe it needed a bigger budget to make it better but like said before it's worth a watch.

Funny and Entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed the jokes in this flick, from the politician who openly assaults homeless people in his campaign ad, to the Faithful Cow burger shop, and more. I definitely laughed out loud more than once which is why I am giving this a higher rating than it probably deserves. I say that because the ending is very disappointing. The evil boss who is committing fraud to own a yacht is shown as the final girl, while everyone who was at all nice or likable is murdered. Some people would probably cheer at the anti-hero getting away and receiving his promotion but honestly I thought it made the film a lot less enjoyable to show the cruelest people winning at the end (other than the sadistic grandma).

The openning of the movie really created something to be captivated by and honetly what kept me watching but the final couple of acts really were a let down and i was really trying to give it chance.... wild how high rotten tomatoes had it rated....killed off the one character with redeeming qualtities, which I am completely fine with if you give me some satisfaction/come uppin's for said character.....allot to be desired at the end forsure, all the characters were fine and some really executed well, just seemed like the writing just kinda fizzled out at the end. I hope that was somewhat helpful thanks!

Not funny, not anything

I was watching this with a friend and after what must have been 30 to 40 minutes we agreed to turn it off to stop our suffering. I have no idea why this would be considered a horror film or a comedy. While it tried for humor, unless you find stale jokes about the insurance business funny, there is zero to laugh at here, but even worse, there wasn't one second of horror in the entire time we watched. Truly this was painful amateur hour when it comes to film-making. Have you ever watched a film so bad, it gets on your nerves? This is awful.

not very good, probably a symptom of the writer's strike

I can't keep giving movies like this on prime the benefit of the doubt. Sure, it's "made on a budget". That doesnt go so far when the company selling the film to us is one of the wealthiest on the planet.

Keeping company is pretty dry, boring, with less than likeable characters that don't elicit any of the laughs the writers think they are going to. There's no comedy, not much horror either. I like a lot of the cast members in different projects, but i had to turn this one off after about 40 minutes. They have to be able to do better than this, and so i have to assume that amazon or other streaming services just want dirt cheap content and don't care if it's finished or releasable.

I think that even if the cast members are trying, the director didn't bother to do enough takes to make the characters interesting or compelling.

Ironic life insurance

Great concept and a pretty unique storyline makes this a pretty interesting movie to watch, even though the acting might not be the best it was still a fun movie to watch and kept me entertained.

Definitely would recommend to watch!

Fun

Warning: Spoilers
Sonny and Noah work at Caste Insurance for Paula, who lets the former know in no certain circumstances that he must stop working with the latter, who is his best friend. Sonny is working hard to impress his father and show that he is worthy, so all looks lost for their friendship. Such is the way of business.

And then they knock on the wrong person's door.

A cab driver named Lucas has been abducting and murdering the lower rung of society. Is he doing it in tribute to his dead mother? Has he finally lost it after a lifetime living under the rule of his grandmother? And now that Sonny and Noah have barged their way into his home to sell an insurance policy -- ending with them chained up in his basement -- will they ever leave?

Director and writer Josh Wallace has really put together a tight, bloody and amoral tale here. Everybody -- well, except for Noah -- wants to use one another and will climb over dead bodies to get ahead. But when those dead bodies are literal, will they behave the same way?

If you're in the mood for a very, very black comedy. You can't go wrong with this one.

Witty. Bloody. Fun.

I had the pleasure of seeing this film in festivals and it was definitely a stand out. The two leads were a blast to watch and the "creepy dude" was awesome. Many laughs, many scares, what a fun flick. Not to mention it makes you think more than your run-of-the-mill horror film out there. Didn't expect it to be as smart as it was. Great movie all around!

a weird...

Little story about how to secure life and limbs in the most deteriorating manners, where sales numbers have lifetrhreatening consequences, and i can assure that youll be dumbfaced by this little macabre insurance black comedy horror.

Its neatly acted, some old guns arrives from the neverlands(mary from dumb and dumber), the filmographic story seems flawless, and the morals of the story is just absent, so if you like the pathic kind of horror genre you wont be dissapointed, a 1001 on minced meat for dummies, tastes good thinks the grumpy old man.

Hilarious if you like dark comedy and absurdity
sikihac18 November 2023
I thought this was hilarious in many ways, the psychopathology of the sellsellsell culture all over now, the dirty tricks done with a soothing voice and big smile, the bdsm aspects of trying to get large companies to care much or deliver on their promises, the house of society run by sick perv criminals, using programmed members born into the cult to enforce its dictats and such. The ridiculous torture expected of the little guy to get ahead way dramatized here but apt.

The small time scammer boss lady and the very telling image of insurance in general, you don't get a refund at all if nothing goes wrong so it's pure lard for the companies and the payouts they do do they just raise prices on everyone else to make up for it, they never actually use their own money for claims in the med/long run. It's also a required by law racket in a few cases, be better just to fix prices or no prices have the gov provide it and then return it every year minus nominal op fees, or roll it over year to year as a fund w interest if nothing happens which is like 95% of the time. It's a scam business, like so many other things in the jnew world order.

It does have macabre dark humor which isn't for everyone and there is a ridiculousness of normalizing slavery, cannibalism and such that no doubt the ptb want to do. They've already normalized so much criminality it's amazing. The slapstick ready made evil and inhumanity of a few of the characters is hilarious and sad. I could def see a large part of the sellsellsell people not like this movie, a little too close to home and an unconscious hostility built into it for them. I won't even touch the hidden transinverts in all roles here, that's a given w the cult based on it, androgyne "gods" in their own minds. I will say the boss lady boy is fairly obvious. And we have the fatty "men" who have "feelings" and such, the best friend is the easiest to see as an invert.

Totally recommended but hard to find since there's some other thing called keeping company that usually gets picked out by the auto selector and such. But you have to see the ridiculous scam of so much "good" criminal enterprises called businesses and just laugh at it. But hyperbole is almost the only way most can see it now it's so normalized, that's macabre.

You're a shark.

Very good black comedy. Covered almost all the aspects of this consumerist society we are living in. A small low budget movie but way better than some of the star cast big budget movies in recent times. Story line & pace of the movie is so good that the minor flaws will get unnoticed. My rating is 6.5 but giving it 9 just to make sure it is rated high up so that people give it a chance. Watch it. You won't regret it.
