Shows how bad US can be

That there are places where the police have no power, that are "taking over by criminals" is insane. .. intens and great pacing

Used to be good, too much personal focus

Warning: Spoilers
I really like this show the first season. Now it's got so much social political drama and little tibbets that it's getting annoying. So much crammed down your throat. Also, writing seems to have fallen off, focusing on too much drama mini plots and not enough on building any real cases or following any kind of procedures. Makes it seem like the cops are out just arresting people based on no evidence, destroying people's property without warrants etc. Needs better writing. They literally arrested two cops because a murderers father said they framed his son without offering any evidence. Weird...

Solid procedurals should have solid evidence

Warning: Spoilers
This show focuses too much on personal issues, social issues, and very little in the way of strategy. Hondo just comes up with something and off they go. The interweaving of personal issues is very distracting and there is always a social issue of the week. Look guys, nobody cares who's dating who, who's having a baby, who's dating a married couple, or any of the other fluff that goes on with this crew. We care about SWAT operations, tactics and training. The rest is just filler and you guys know it. Try watching a single episode of The Brave, or how about Criminal Minds back in the days when Hondo was an actual character with depth and scope.
