Lacks substance

Warning: Spoilers
So...equipping magic gauntlets that go up to your elbow to lift a 500K kg key also protects and strengthens your shoulders, backs and legs?

The CW shows are lacking in these later seasons in writing value. Too many filler episodes, and key episodes like this one are just not as well written.

Less episodes per season to cut the fat would increase show quality, at least so much.

Decent.

3 out of 5 stars.

The episode is decent. Focusing on the theme and story politically how there is a revolution that is about to begin separating the aliens and humans. The elite wanting to crash the protest. Supergirl, Nia, and Jonn try to stop them from crashing and helping the humans and aliens.

Nothing new with progressing with the story. It was nice to see the climax of Supergirl and Nia helping. With the finishing touches of the mad world song playing in the climax.

Reflects the culture in the US today

Many of today's headlines are reflected in this episode. The hate and animosity is so palpable and shows so much of the emotional angst and mono ideology present in the US.

Weak Episode

Warning: Spoilers
This episode epitomizes everything I hate about this season. Whether it's the totally ridiculous Children of Liberty, Lockwood being named to what I'm guessing is a presidential cabinet position (that would require senate confirmation by the way) immediately after being let out of jail on a technicality for terrorism charges, the horrible editing, stilted line delivery, it's all just a mess. Brainy and Nia are getting a bit tiring (pardon the pun) despite strong intros and the whole Alex not knowing Kara is Supergirl is just stupid now. Thought it could be something but they're just not doing anything interesting with it.

Benoist, Chyler and Harewood are doing their best but with the loss of Jeremey Jordan and Chris Wood the show has taken a big hit on its charisma and clever humor departments. J'onn and Manchester's conflict is a bit of a bright spot but I'm not holding my breath. Oh and Jimmy being shot at the end is also pretty intriguing. I'm going to guess that it was Lex Luther based on the promos for next week's episode. Here's hoping that it is a good one!

JUST when you thought it couldn't get more political!
rwgilmore2413 October 2019
After watching earlier seasons you figured out that well perhaps they (writers) have gotten it out of their system, but NO it's heavier than ever. With this episode apparently showing full sympathy for "illegal" aliens and amnesty for them. There is a half heart'ed attempt to portray both sides as having villains so were not dealing with much in the way of SciFi but putting out political agenda.

The fake British actor is totally ruining this show.

Can't believe you didn't get a British actor to play Hat!! I'm beginning to wonder why I'm still watching this show. It's going to the dumps!
