Usher is officially headed toward the biggest stage of his career. On Sept. 24, the NFL, Apple Music, and Roc Nation announced the eight-time Grammy winner as the official 2024 Super Bowl halftime show headliner. The big news was revealed in a series of videos where Usher gets a call from Kim Kardashian, Deion Sanders, Marshawn Lynch, and Odell Beckham Jr. using footage from his "Confessions Part II" music video.
In a press release, Usher said of his upcoming gig, "It's an honor of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can't wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they've seen from me before." Seth Dudowsky, NFL head of music, praised the music legend in a statement, saying, "Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career, we couldn't be more excited to...

If you plan to attend Usher's "My Way" Las Vegas residency, you'll want to arrive early because you don't want to miss the preshow dance party courtesy of his unmatched fans. As I walked into the Park MGM arena for the show I was attending in late June, my ears were greeted with classic R&b and hip-hop songs like Tevin Campbell's "Can We Talk" and Miguel's "Adorn You" as a DJ encouraged us to stand, dance, and sing along with the rest of the audience. Usher's dancers even came out and interacted with the audience, inviting some lucky attendees to dance with them on stage. The vibes felt more like a house party with all of my best friends than a concert surrounded by strangers. So much so that I didn't even realize the show was starting.

Netflix’s new rom-com “The Perfect Find” isn’t short on great music. The original film stars Gabrielle Union and Keith Powers as Jenna Jones and Eric Combs as well as Gina Torres, who plays Darcy Hale. Jenna’s journey back into fashion comes at a price — begging her old nemesis for a job at her fashion magazine Darzine. Jenna also puts herself back out there for love, and she finds a real connection with Eric — until she realizes he’s Darcy’s son.
The film adaptation of Tia Williams’ novel contains a great soundtrack of music by Black artists. The soundtrack complements references to Nina Mae McKinney, Aretha Franklin and more, and strides between older hits from past decades and modern singles that are popular in the present day to capture the full spectrum of art.

Talking about an admission his guest once made to him, Tatrick recalled, “He goes to me, ‘Dude, I don’t know what the f–k I’m doing. I got $5,000 in my bank account, I don’t know what my next job is, and I’m dating Gigi Hadid.’”
“Not even $5,000, I had like $200, you know what I mean?” Cameron jumped in to correct him.
Cameron and Hadid dated for about two months in 2019, not long after he appeared as a contestant on the reality dating show.

Though Marvel has decided to consolidate all of its cinematic universe offerings onto Disney+, some outliers still live on for other streaming services. In May 2021, Hulu is set to premiere the latest non-canon Marvel series.
The animated comedy Marvel’s M.O.D.O.K. is set to premiere on May 21 and stars Patton Oswalt as the titular Marvel villain. Oswalt’s Modok is every bit the devious floating head that he’s depicted as in the comics. He’s also your every day family man and the show will take on the format of a workplace sitcom. Sounds kinda fun! It’s no wonder that M.O.D.O.K. is the last Hulu Marvel show standing.
In non-Marvel offerings this month, Shrill will debut its third and final season on May 7. This comedy based on Lindy West’s memoir and starring SNL‘s Aidy Bryant has been a consistently bright presence on the streaming scene since...

If you’re seeking new stuff to watch, you can almost always be guaranteed that Netflix has got you covered with a giant collection of movies, shows and specials. Just this month alone has seen such major additions as the entire Jurassic Park trilogy, the extremely popular Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt flick Project Power, and quirky movies like Being John Malkovich and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
That’s enough to warrant a subscription on its own, but as usual, Netflix never stops and today bring us a content drop that contains a handful of new things you might want to check out when you’re done watching all of the stuff added earlier in the month.
For one, German series Biohackers joins the platform today. This conspiracy drama poses a lot of questions about how far scientists are willing to go and whether there’s even a...

Wendy Jo Carlton’s Good Kisser made a splash at last year’s Outfest LA and is now set to become available to the wider public through Netflix. The story of two women who try to spice up their relationship by arranging a threesome with another, it’s a witty drama which mixes comedy with some difficult emotional moments. Ahead of the release, I chatted to Wendy about the ideas underlying the film and how the story developed.
“The story in Good Kisser developed for me because of my own life experiences: relationships, romance, lust, attraction. I’m very drawn to trying to get to that visceral, sensual experience and honouring it. I think it’s very human and dramatic and exciting and universal. As a woman and as...

Netflix‘s new releases for August 2020 should be a hell of a good time.
How else are we supposed to describe the month that features the long-awaited arrival of Lucifer season 5? Yes, ol’ Lucy finally returns on August 21 for what is now the penultimate season of the show.
While Lucifer is the main highlight of Netflix’s original offerings on August, that doesn’t mean there aren’t some other intriguing options to stream. The Rain season 3 arrives on August 6, Wizards: Tales of Arcadia on August 7, and Teenage Bounty Hunters on August 14. That’s not even to mention a potential blockbuster movie in the form of the Jamie Foxx and Joseph Gordon-Levitt starring Project Power.
In August, Netflix also continues its high-profile poaching of other worthwhile properties as well. August sees the arrival of both The Legend of Korra and Cobra Kai, opening up two worthwhile series to an even wider streaming audience.

Netflix is adding a seriously impressive line-up of content across August. In a bid to keep you indoors and out of the sun, the streaming giant has got a wide range of titles coming to its library next month, including various highly-anticipated original movies and TV shows, as well as countless beloved films that are being added – or are returning – to the site.

Now, however, we can see there’s a lot more to look forward to besides just that.
