Where do you start with this? Comparing it to War if the Worlds 2 is a good start. Seen that one? DON'T!
With costumes the original Power Rangers would laugh at, weapons the Ghostbusters would laugh at and navy seals Navy Seals would cringe at. From reloading weapons with empty magazines to walking off leaving their weapons on the ground and a SEAL willing to die for a blender that, apparently, makes the best protein shakes in the world, it's impossible to take these guys seriously. The only way this could be worse would be for the disgraced brother to shag the scientist on the alien artifact. All in all fairly typical of a Netflix film made to boost their movie count leaving viewers wondering if staring at a wall would have been time better spent.

So I love all kinds of movies regardless of cast, budget, genre etc. It's not often I actually regret watching a movie but sadly I do regret watching Alien Warfare (2019).
I understand that not every movie needs to be/can be high budget. In fact some of my favourite movies (Evidence, The Battery, State Of Emergency etc) are on the low-end when it comes to budget so I go into movies with my eyes wide open but dear lord.
Alien Warfare is just flat-out bad. The effects were bad to the point that they almost seemed like they were supposed to be supporting some kind of parody. The story itself was okay-ish but it's the same thing that's been done time and time again. The cinematography was just cheap and some of the dialogue itself just seemed awkward. So having said that; I have watched movies like this before with the same negatives that've had the saving grace of good/passionate actors but dear lord, that's not the case here. I got the legitimate feeling that the actors either weren't getting paid, weren't getting paid enough or weren't actual actors and instead were people either picked up off the street or kidnap victims. None of the actors performed well or even mildly decent, none of them seemed to have any semblance of passion and none of them felt believable in their respective roles.
I'm all for indie-movies and micro-budget movies and I usually tell people to watch something just for the experience but I can wholeheartedly say that this one is an easy hard-pass for most people. It just isn't worth the time invested.

Any hope of being a respectable sci-fi flick is teleported away when you see the aliens - they look like villains from a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode. I did get into a little, yelling "Awwww-Nooo, they got Jonesy, they got Jonesy!!!" and couldn't seem to just stop watching.

I watched the movie to the half way when I realized how badly I was wasting my life in watching this. Netflix should have a rating warning when they try to push movies like this to their customers. Shame on you Netflix. This is not even a joke. This like some bad alcohol, you don't even enjoy it while consuming, but still you get the really bad hangover next day. Don't even think to watch it.

This is a really bad movie with absolutely no redeeming features.
Only if you are in dire need of calibrating your rating system should you ever consider watching Alien Warfare - it defines the worst possible rating a movie could ever deserve.

Phenomenal movie! These actors should be in the running for a Oscar. The direction is phenomenal. The suspense is unparalleled. The special effects are unprecedented. The way they develop the characters creates an atmosphere reminiscent of Gone With The Wind. I expect this movie to sweep the Oscars. There are a few things I should point out that, in case you missed it, make the movie the amazing piece that it is.
1: they shoot dozens of rounds and no spent shells are ever ejected 2: the aliens wear mittens and look like.......POWER RANGERS! 3: the faraday room has windows 4: the call the guy they kicked out for a super, double, top secret mission 5: everything about this movie
I recommend you purchase this movie. This is an instant classic. It will be decades before you see a movie of this caliber.

This movie is so bad. I can't even describe how. The acting is atrocious. It's cheap looking. It feels like a bunch of students in film class in freshman year would do this as their final project. I've never rated a movie "1". First time for everything.

Boyfriend was craving a movie with aliens plus some action. Thought the title was everything we've wanted.
Two seconds in, you can tell that you're either gonna be laughing all the way or you'll throw the towel in. We chose laughter. After a few beers, this movie is the best thing to watch!

The first couple of minutes you immediatly notice it's like an homemade movie. So once you prepare for that level, I actually started to enjoy this movie. It got me laughing hard a few times. It's more a movie about the characters with weird but relatable habits people have. The story is just a background detail, it's about their personalities and they were interesting. The movie is not too long, so it was refreshing to see this short funny watchable B movie. It's not forcing or pretending to be an A movie. So they knew what they were making and stuck too it. Because of that, I say, well done.

So just to be upfront, this isn't a good movie. But if we're being honest, it wasn't really intended to be; it's your classic "B" movie fare. A fix for people who like certain themes, in this case alien stuff and military stuff, but otherwise a pretty forgettable enterprise.
What's interesting about this film is two things, in my opinion. First, I have to hand it to the producers. B movies used to be just universally awful. Bad cinematography, bad dialogue, bad acting, just plain bad everything. But the industry has come a long way from when I was a kid. While the camera is clearly a less expensive model that doesn't look quite as good as a mainstream flick, it doesn't look absolutely horrible either. It just looks a little home movie-ish. In the hands of a more experienced operator it might have looked pretty close to regular cinema quality.
And the angles and framing of the scenes aren't bad at all; I mean, they're kind of generic, but the scenes feel fairly well thought out and reasonably executed. It may lack artistry, but it's clear someone put some thought into it. It feels less like someone who always dreamed of being a movie director self-funded their own film and more like the people who made the movie were just inexperienced.
The dialogue is similar. A little generic, but (mostly) short of being painful. The delivery, on the other hand, is where things kind of come apart. It's funny, in the first five minutes of the movie I had this hunch that one of the actors actually had some military experience and the rest were struggling actors, so I jumped on IMDB and sure enough, the guy I suspected of having military experience is in fact a former navy seal.
He's the other stand out of the film. I won't even bother to name him, you'll see it almost immediately. He has a kind of coiled energy that's hard to describe, but something that you recognize instinctively. A predator.
It's too bad they couldn't have packed the movie with others like him. He's not a half bad actor, and it might have made the movie more immersive. As it is, it feels very uneven, like there's a team with one true warrior and a bunch of civilians that he's been tricked into thinking are actual soldiers. They puff and strut while he hunts, and you keep expecting him to blink, shake his head, and ask "who the hell are you guys?"
So I wouldn't really recommend this movie, but I will say that it's certainly better than it could have been. And it's on Netflix, at least as of this writing, so you can see it at no cost if you are already a subscriber. Make of that what you will.

So,... I wanted to attempt at some movie similar to Battle Los Angeles and the like. I saw Alien Warfare, and I saw the two "U.S. Marines" on the cover, so I expected something like it.
Oh boy was I NOT ready for what was shoved into my eye holes.Within the first ten minutes I knew that this movie was going to be absolutely dismal. What I thought was first a training location for Marines,... turned out that it was supposed to be taken seriously. I am absolutely amazed that they thought this was worth putting in a movie. It looks like someone took a B movie, took it's budget and gave it to a homeless person, then gave the director some pocket change instead.
Don't even give this "movie" the time of day unless you're a glutton for punishment, or you regret ever seeing a good movie in your life and want to know what it's like to watch your parents make love with your cousins in the room filming it.

Because that's the only way this utter waste of time got the funding and space on the Netflix roster. It takes a lot for me to give up on a film. I try to look for the positives, and I went into it knowing it was going to be cheesy, C-list stuff. But 38:47 was my limit. My "screw this I'm done" moment.
What I did not anticipate was the need to add letters after Z to the alphabet in order to have a list-ranking low enough for this film.
Just don't. Seriously, you'd be better off watching paint dry. At least with that there's a semblance of a plot. The only positive thing about watching this film is the choice to stop watching it. I did it so you don't have to.

I came across this on Netflix and was unsure how a film with no real fan bases made it on the platform. Been working on finding some more gems like this one. Sure all the other films on Netflix have a huge budget. Im a indie filmmaker myself and saw a lot of value in this film. A huge congrats to the producers, cast and crew for getting this placed on Netflix. Beyond that if your wanting to watch a huge budget blockbuster Alien Warfare is not for you. But if you want to enjoy a low budget indie film that beyond a miracle got placed on Netflix give it a shot.

Yes this is a "cheap" production. But COME ON, what are you doing watching this movie if you don't like sciente fiction, aliens warfare and have the need that every movie you watch must be a multibiolionaire blockbuster? From the title you could already know this would not be another Matrix.
This is a nice B movie, but only if you enjoy spending some time watching "yet another alien science fiction movie" and you find cliches funny, and some "power rangers" style effects.
I knew where I was going into, and I had some fun.
