Skims continues its ’90s-inspired streak with a new swimwear campaign starring Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy.
Electra, 51, and McCarthy, 50, “capture the essence of a sizzling, hot summer,” notes Skims in a release. “This fun campaign celebrates the impact these women had on pop culture and their timeless appeal, reminding the world that confidence and sexiness cannot be confined.”
The actresses sport the Kim Kardashian-co-founded label’s signature swim silhouettes in the shoot, including the zip-front and scoop-neck one-pieces ($88-$94) in the classic Onyx and Gunmetal shades, the Triangle Top with the Dipped Tie Bottoms ($36-$38), the Tank bikini top and the mid-waist bottoms ($48 each).
The former Playboy models previously worked together on McCarthy’s 2005 film, Dirty Love, and “faced off” in MTV’s claymation series Celebrity Deathmatch.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9 season premiere of “The Masked Singer,” which aired Feb. 22 on Fox.
The Winner Takes It All: “The Masked Singer” paid tribute to Swedish super group Abba on Wednesday — and unmasked two 1980s icons in the process. Pop ingenue Debbie Gibson, who first hit it big in 1987 as a 17-year-old sensation who wrote and sang her own songs, was unmasked as the Night Owl, while comedian and “America’s Got Talent” judge Howie Mandel — who rose to recognition on the 1980s medical drama “St. Elsewhere” — was revealed to be the Rock Lobster.
Gibson was a last-minute addition to the episode after the celebrity who was originally set to appear had to exit after testing positive for Covid. With less than 24 hours to taping, Gibson agreed to step in.

Throughout pop history, the legacy of post-Beatles boy bands and teen pop have lacked respect. Journalist Maria Sherman’s new book, Larger Than Life: A History of Boy Bands from NKotB to Bts, shakes off decades of under-appreciation for the pop subgenre and lays out a fascinating, in-depth history of the groups and fans that have shaped boy band culture.
For fans and curious-minded music nerds alike, the fully illustrated Larger Than Life aims to inform while being accessible. Sherman, a Rolling Stone contributor and writer for Jezebel, lays out...

Before last week’s Top 9 showdown, we hadn’t seen the Turtle, one of our favorite contestants on “The Masked Singer,” since mid February. His strong vocals and sense of showmanship on the Steve Winwood song “Higher Love” on the April 1 episode secured him a place in the quarterfinals. In the first of these on April 8, he competes against the Astronaut, Kangaroo and Night Angel. Each is hoping to win over the four judges and the studio audience.
We’ve rewatched the Turtle’s April 1 performance as well as his first three appearances (“Kiss From a Rose” by Seal; “Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur and “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back” by Shawn Mendes). While we are certain that this is a one-time boy band member we are equally convinced that judges are wrong with their guesses that the Turtle is either Jenny’ husband Donnie Wahlberg...
