Annoying main character? Painfully. However...
dystopian-galaxy18 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The main character is definitely annoying, beyond necessary. However, his character develops over the season, thankfully, so that by the end you're really glad he's around. I was getting really sick of Daisuke but I'm glad that it didn't put me off watching altogether because I like the direction the series took, the story was interesting and I'm keen for a second season.

It's not spectacular but I still think it's enjoyable and worth watching. I hope that the second season that was hinted at at the end gets made.

Decent storyline, horrible, tiring, melodramatic dialogue
er_ouz5 June 2019
While the story is decent, and the animation good, the characters and dialogue are simply atrocious. Constant over-the-top melodrama from the main character that's always screaming and throwing a hissy fit make the show extremely tiring to watch. Can be enjoyed in small doses.

Main character ruined it
tkygundam15 May 2019
Omg, why would they design the main character with such personality. I would rate this 7/10 if he got replaced by something else like a pikachu for instance

6/10 There are better animations out there and more importantly better storylines ...
CursedSeal8631 May 2019
I love Anime and want Netflix to make more of it so I always give it's originals a chance. This anime loses a lot of anime purists by having 3D characters in a 2d backdrop. Other 3D anime's by Netflix have had excellent storylines so they managed to get good reviews despite of themselves. The problem with this anime is it's story. "Revisions" is a mecha anime with a time travel premise that rarely lives up to it's potential. The dialogue is lacking as the protagonist incists all the time on the idea that he will be the one to save everyone. I am all for the protagonist being a hero...but it almost feels like the subtext is simply him shouting "I am the protagonist" rather then their being depth to the character or him actually being that heroic. The supporting characters at their worst are each annoying for their own unique reasons and at their best moments they are just cookie cutter cliches of the anime genre. Netflix needs to make better choices on what story to animate. Simply said there is much better content out there that you should watch before you even consider giving this a chance.

Would be good if the main character would STFU
danrwileyjunk15 May 2019
The main character is annoying. All he does is talk about himself and then whine.

The story is not bad and the animation is good but the main character makes this so painful to watch.

Main Character Annoying Confirmed
ontario-971-15332426 November 2023
Maybe it's the dubbed misinterpretation, but Daisuke is annoying. It takes away from my enjoyment. I only want him to fight amd shut up. Disuke talking makes me wanna change the channel. The action sequences are on point. I'm ok with all of the other characters and the plot. I can't recall ever seeing it before. I wonder how well this show did in internationally. I am at the point right now where I am watching a lot of anime on Netflix. I ran across this and it sparked my interest. The Milo character is probably the best thing about the show. She's very mysterious. I am now on a quest to see if there is any other animal affiliated with this show.

Great plot, TERRIBLE writing
wijays20 May 2019
The writers seem to have no grasp of how people talk, how they interact or even how to write a coherent story. I watched the entire show hoping that it would improve, but unfortunately, the writers haven't been fired yet...

If season 2 is somehow made, I hope they have replaced the writers with people who have actually written stories before!

A distinctly mediocre experience
kamh-509999 October 2020
I watched it all for the sake of it, had nothing better to do.

This anime really did fall a bit limp. The central character is pretty hard to watch, constant over dramatic monologues about his destiny. Found "the gang" to be a fairly lifeless dynamic, everybody has their dry, assigned role and nobody ever deviates much.

The dialogue on the whole was pretty poor, I don't know if it's a cultural thing or a lost in translation, but a lot of the conversations just seemed dumb and the sort of thing that a 7 year old would find cool. It just felt so hollow, like an anime that was just going through the motions of "oh our hero!" dialogue.

The show does bring good visuals to the table but even then the CG style can get a bit weird at times, frame rate for motion varies pretty heavily and came look a bit clunky... while at other times they overanimate some frames.

I'd say the most interesting bits for myself where when the main characters weren't around. The political/police side of things was interesting and I enjoyed that a lot more than the school kids.

Maybe I signed up for it by choosing something aimed at teenagers? I don't know. But I expected better, it honestly makes me question this world when someone was hired to actually write and produce this thing. Money shouldn't be funding projects like these - it's a waste.

Glad I gave it a chance!
Gaara-Kazekage17 May 2019
I almost didn't watch this because of the reviews. I am so pleased that I did. It was thoroughly enjoyable. Binged the entire thing in one evening. Each episode seamlessly moved into the next. Was like watching a long movie.

The character development was good, the story was fun and the animation was great. The CGI weirded me out for the first several minutes but then I got used to it and actually started to like it.

Basically it shows me that I really need to try things myself and no base my decision to watch things on others opinions.

Worse Anime I've ever watched in my life.
evandonald-262279 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The main character can just shut up. He think he's so amazing, he's the hero and all. So bloody annoying. In episode 3, his friends where able to handle themselves and you can tell the jealously in his eyes. Episode 4 he said killing all the enemies is justice. As this movie is an anime, kids would watch it too. Is this what kids should be taught? Killing us justice. Telling kids to act like a hero all the time. This isn't right and you can tell that they're trying their best to make it into like a 3D anime (I'd give them that) but it's still pretty laggy. It would have been better if it was like a normal anime not too modern but not too old, eg. Akame Ga Kill. Honestly, I felt like wasted my time. Ended up watching only 4 episodes. If you can handle annoyance, go for it.

Dumb characters ruin what had potential.
davd00716 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
First of all i gotta say the animation of this is really on point and i can definetly get behind the main theme. That would be where this show can be a solid 8/10.

Sadly everything else about this is god damn awful I had to pause the first episode 6 times because i got so upset/embarassed that i needed a break. The main character seems like some kind of psychopath who cant perceive his actions at all. (i.e. he breaks some innocent dudes ribs because he asked his friend for directions but still somehow thinks he's the good guy in that story)

While the main character is definetly the worst it's not just him who ruins this show for me. Overall the actions of the characters make no sense to anyone with half a brain. If it's a teacher who slams a door shut on her students which traps them with a monster (a door i might add that would never fit that monster but perfectly fits innocent children smh) or that femal MC who just hands the biggest psychopath in town her secret weapon after only confirming his name.

No instructions on how to operate it given. but he doesnt need thos because he's been to doing hand curls for seven years to prepare for the apocalypse. Honestly what was that part about him being an A student.

And lastly this show does what every anime I truly hate does. Create Drama from misunderstandings that could simply be fixed by anyone involved speaking up and revealing there is actually no drama at all.

So i gave this a 3/10 for art because I don't believe in giving 0/10 if there was something to like. But don't let this fool you. I truly think this is absolute trash.

Main character is more annoying than needed but story redeems it.
michaelprall4 June 2019
I get the main character is annoying for a reason - believing in destiny made him annoying. But did he have to be that annoying?! Regardless it pulls it together by the end. Very cool plot. Good English voice acting despite annoying writing at times. I'd recommend it and I'd watch a second season.

Terrible
wimgielenglas5 January 2021
One of the worst anime ever. The idea is good, but apparently the writers have spend most of their lives under a rock. The "hero" is the most annoying character and the unrealistic human interaction is just pathetic. Again a case of a ruined great plan.

High tech zombie apocalypse
DPF_12 December 2020
Warning: Spoilers
With both sides using mecha, the obligatory over the top teen angst and high school drama, if you can make it to the big reveal at the end of ep 6 it improves. Liked the nod to the original Star Trek and Lazarus at the end.

People dont understand.
hettingerbrandon16 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I have been reading other comments and most mention they cant stand the main character. I couldnt either (at first) I watched through to the end and the main character actually becomes a decent guy. I think they took to long to develop the character. But if theres a second season it'l be much more enjoyable.

Wow, a lot of people don't get it.
Achyut_Prashast_Singh23 August 2020
I am really surprised how some people have found the show bad because they felt the protagonist was annoying. Well, that was the makers' intention! They wanted us to question the protagonist's self-obsessed fantasies before giving us a chance to root for him as his character develops throughout the series. This is something a lot of viewers around the globe are yet to understand: that if they hate something intended to be hated, it's actually being loved and that thing has succeeded in making you emote.

Well, keeping that aside, Revisions is a cool sci-fi action anime where every episode offers an interesting narrative replete with explosive action and character moments. I was totally intrigued as I kept jumping to another episode instantly after the previous one was over. I found the story fresh and immersive, and how it understood the characters totally was another plus point. The "mecha" fights were a major highlight and came across as highly impressive. It's also intriguing how almost every character contributes something to the plot and also turns out to be memorable.

It's overall a youthful teenage action show that entertains and also leaves the thinking viewer wondering what it takes to be a hero in real life. The show also emphasizes on the power of friendship, and succeeds in most of its intentions. If only some people could understand the protagonist's initially arrogant nature is totally intentional on the part of makers, they won't have any problem with enjoying "Revisions".

This show is not bad it is pretty good
I however enjoyed the show due to it progression to the characters and its worth the watch,it not a terrible nor atrocious show as some people say it is. The story has to do a lot that keeps you stuck in your seat or wherever you are. The disaster theme that this show plays is pretty good being set in the future and what people will do to survive. The minor problem with this show is the Main Character he yells a lot which is great and bad (probably because the American actor "Bryce Papenbrook" did a role in Attack on Titan in which I don't mind) in the first 4 episodes he kinda gets annoying until later he starts to grow up and mature. The villains of this show are pretty well directed the main villain is Awesome for being so manipulative and I don't know what it is but I do like the give or take Gangter of New Yorkan Accent. The show is pretty well done and it is worth the watch and you might feel sad later in the show so go watch it. P.s I interested for what to come in later seasons

Decent storyline, a bit confusing
jonathanmejia-2374930 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The beginning episodes were quite enjoyable, a decent character introduction. I ended up losing interest halfway through watching, mainly due to the story not being what I expected, which is why I am giving this a seven, because it would not be fair to rate it worse when I did not even finish watching. When I watched, I enjoyed the style and how movement looked smooth and did not have rough ends, a cool concept for the creatures or whatever the things are. Would recommend to those who actually can focus on what is really happening. One last thing, this had a good plot but, the main character especially, did not need to be written or portrayed in the way they were.
