Sex & Nudity

  • There is some nudity and sexual content. There are shots throughout of men wearing historical underwear out in the open, but this was the style during the summers and isn't intended to be sexual.
  • in one episode a male character is shirtless
  • girls in the summer wearing a short skirts
  • nothing bad through the show
  • Prostitution is implied and sex in shown briefly at least once without nudity.

Violence & Gore

  • There is a lot of blood violence and body dismemberment
  • Most of the violence is in the sword fights between samurai or the main character hunting demons. These scenes feature varying levels of blood and gore, with limbs being dismembered, people being impaled, and blood spraying everywhere.
  • In the third episode, a man can be seen crucifying villagers.
  • A child is born with no eyes, ears, nose, limbs, or skin. It's shown a couple of times work some blood around where it's face would be an an incomplete system is veins.
  • Arguably the most violent scene is when one of the characters gouges out his own eyeballs with his own hands in such a manner that even the roots of the eyes are extracted. This is fully on screen but is not as extreme as it may seem, however this scene is still disturbing. This is the only scene where the violence significantly exceeds the rest of the episodes.

Profanity

  • Words like "dammit" and "hell" are used quite frequently.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A child is born with 12 missing body parts, including eyes, skin and limbs. Some viewers can be uncomfortable with grotesque imagery
  • Intense scenes of demons and monsters attacking civilians. These creatures look creepy and often devour helpless people or kill them, sometimes leaving bloody corpses behind.
  • Famines and war are recurring themes in almost every episode. The two main characters encounter people experiencing all sorts of grief and misfortune. Violent death scenes are in almost every episode.
  • The atmosphere of the show, especially the first six episodes, is bleak and depressing. It's set in the Warring States era, one of the most violent periods of Japanese history. War is constant and people are starving everywhere. In one episode, a footless soldier is seen devouring another soldier's corpse to prevent himself from starving to death.

Sex & Nudity

  • A young girl looks after orphaned children, whilst working at night. Later, it is revealed that her night job involves prostitution.
  • The most graphic sex scene so far is at the end of episode 5, where a group of men are briefly shown having sex with a young girl.
  • Episode 5 and 6 have references to graphic sex. One of the young girls is a prostitute that offers herself to groups of men in order to gain income and help the orphaned children. There's a scene where the girl is shown having sex.
  • The most nudity shown in the series so far comes from episode 16. Dororo, revealed to be a girl in an earlier episode, is stripped completely naked by her father's former allies to expose a map on her back. She later lies on her back with her legs spread, she is a child so her breasts aren't fully developed.
  • A scene where a couple of men talk about a woman who was raped.

Violence & Gore

  • A group of men kill a group of children, most of which is off screen, though we see a boy get slashed in the back. In revenge, most of those men are killed with lots of blood splattering all over the attacker, though it's mostly in quick cuts. One man is decapitated off screen and another has his arm cut off with a lot of blood.
  • A boy gets his leg bitten off, the act itself is very quick with some blood, but we see the graphic aftermath with bloody bones protruding from the stump

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Episode 9 is very depressing. It's an entire flashback where Dororo recalls how her father was murdered and her mother starved herself to death to keep her alive.
  • Appearance of a numerous demons and monsters which could be found disturbing & Skinless baby at the beginning of the series with nearly no organs.
