Quite superficial: only for those who want a very basic, not entirely objective history of WW2

The history of WW2, focusing on several key campaigns and battles.

Very basic. Covers key WW2 battles in a very brief, superficial way. No discussion of the strategy, tactics, heroism, flaws, key moments or leadership styles and personalities. It's not even continuous, jumping from one campaign to an unrelated one on the other side of the world. Throw in some very crude map animations and this has all the markings of a very cheap production.

For example, we have 10 minutes on the American Guadalcanal campaign followed by 5 minutes on RAF Bomber Command's bombing campaign of Germany. Even then there is an element of editorial bias, as the narrator tries to paint 'Bomber' Harris's strategy as incorrect. A sense of strategy is only derived from two guys pushing digital markers around a map, and doing so in a very macro sense.

Avoid if you have any knowledge of the history of WW2. Only for those who want a brief glimpse of the key battles of WW2, in no particular order and with a dollop of revisionist history thrown in.

For the definitive history of WW2, watch 'The World at War' (TV Series 1973-76) instead. Easily the best WW2 documentary ever made.
