Indrajit Lankesh was inspired to make the film as a minority Muslim women Shakeela dominated the male industry and became superstar.
Upon its release director Indrajit Lankesh said that the film is not actually a biopic but tribute to an adult film actress who came from minor community and dominated the industry.

Film shows Shakeela's films banned in 1999 but she rose to fame in 2000 with the film Kinnara Thumbikal and did many softcore films then her films faced ban around 2002-2003.
