Awesome

I didn't think I would like this very much, I don't usually like high energy character stand up but this one had quick witty jokes. I don't know why it's getting bad ratings

You might like it but you probably won't laugh. Unless you're English.
janoffpeter15 December 2019
He's one of those socially conscious thinkers that has accumulated some street credo. Not quite my cup of tea but British people probably like him. His kind of humor comes off a bit tormented and he doesn't seem to be enjoying himself on stage. For Russel Brant it's a way to pay the electric bill. We've all got to do it. I didn't laugh once throughout his performance. Ricky Gervais can run rings around him yet there's a sense of curiosity which he generates on a grand enough scale that I can actually enjoy is act. Kind of like a freak show. It's a bit grotesque but you can't look away. So not a high rating but not terrible either.

Intriguing
sbwords7 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Intriguing set during which Russell deconstructs some of his less successful outings. Now he has a daughter I was wondering how he feels about his Andrew Sachs stunt. Would like to hear his opinion on that.

A decent experience
zodxxc5 December 2018
While this will most likely get bombarded with politically biased low ratings, I think that if you're even slightly intrigued by this one, you should check it out. It's full of constant energy (that you don't see in many stand-up shows) and good bits about himself and the hypocrosy of old media.

Self serving and rarely funny
Bug_Eyed27 December 2018
Russel Brand has been pretty funny with good direction in a few movies in which I have seen him act, but this brand of stand-up seemed to be more self serving than entertaining. Most of it is centered around recent political activities in which he has had a part and his opinion of how well he handled it and how much better off the world is for his involvement. There is a TV screen behind him that plays clips recent TV appearances of his (on the news) and it felt like he was telling anyone who would listen how cool he is. I did not laugh once, but trying to give him the benefit of the doubt I watched the whole thing to see if it would get more likable. Two or three times I said to myself "that was a funny line" but not enough to laugh, and I was really trying to get into the spirit of laughter, but it never happened. If you really like him, you may enjoy hearing more about him and what he has been up to, and that is what happens the whole time you will be watching this. If you want to hear comedy in general, this will disappoint.

I gave it a try

This comedy special just isn't funny. I gave it a try but gave up 30 minutes in as I hadn't laughed once.

Brand at his best.... still.
brandonlawler5 December 2018
Brand was simply beautiful. Creative writing, presented in only the way he can deliver. I'll watch this more than once. Thank you Russell for creating this "NETFLIX Original." Oh, and congrats on the baby girl, dad!

No Laughs Here for Me
jessewriter9 December 2018
I have enjoyed some of Brand's stuff before, but not this time. Not even a smile in the 15 minutes I wasted before calling it quits, let alone a laugh. Not very good at all.

As Russel Brand as it gets
mariellealien4 December 2018
He goes on an energetic rant about this and that, and if you have ever seen any of his appearances you know how this goes - he's up and down and here and there, and it's funny and that's what all about.

I wanted to enjoy this but...
pussyhasfurballs8 December 2018
What's with the obnoxious camera work?

Russell tells joke.

Shot of audience laughing.

Russell tells joke.

Shot of audience laughing.

And on and on and on. I felt like I was getting whip lash. This is a comedy show - of course the audience is laughing. We can hear them. We don't need to see them laughing Every. Single. Time.

I only got about 10 minutes in and decided to give up.

Pretentious Rambling
iainoconnor4 December 2018
This show doesn't feel like Brand representing what he actually is but rather what he thinks the average person would like him to be. I didn't laugh once.

Come on, it's just funny!
Msbnitski5 December 2018
Russell goes there with everything he sees fit. It's just funny stuff. He's had a child, he's sober and it's just funny. I always liked him even when he was wasted on whatever he was on. Now, he's sober and tells it as he sees it. If that offends you then don't watch him. Otherwise, it's just funny stuff!

Hilarious and moving
torerafagbenle31 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Ah. Only Russell Brand can make me laugh in one moment and cry in the next. This is Brand at his best... I cried when he asked, "Where are you Nan?" and responds, "I've gone ain't I, boy..." it is a moment of great intimacy, which moved me to tears, immediately followed by a joke, but not for comedic relief... just because that's what he does. All the shades of life.

I was moved, too, when he talked about vortexes. He doesn't put anything on and is true to form - self(read: ego)-critical, full of love and boy wonder. When he talks about everyone being babies, I laughed the type of laugh you laugh with your best friend.

I'd watch it again in a heartbeat.

I really enjoyed it!
cynche11 December 2018
I'm Canadian, so I didn't get all the London specific jokes, but it was still great entertainment. I guess you have to like his particular style, like with most comedians. I like his self-deprecating humor. He seemed less full of himself in this show, which is surely a result of fatherhood. I think he's a great storyteller and there are many laugh-out-loud moments in this show.

Truly amazing.
robinjordanfeltham20 December 2018
I know Russel Brand rubs people the wrong way, but I believe that's just cause they're not open to accept him as he is. Cause that's who Russel Brand is, just himself. Smart, spiritual, self critical but also self accepting (hard to do!) and most of all hi-la-ri-ous! WHAT a story teller! One of a kind. Don't miss this.

Beyond Humour
haamerhed-036391 February 2019
Russell displays a take on reality very few of us are willing to acknowledge without bias. Rebirth has a depth uncommon in comedy. Thought provoking. Funny. Emotional. Well worth the watch.

Profoundly touching
cat_schroedingers15 March 2020
Well, after using imdb for 9 years, this finally moved me so much, I am writing my First Review. May Not Sound Like a big deal, but I have watched 489 Horror movies (almost as many comedies+other movies of course), watched at least half the shows on Netflix (and many many Others) and 95% of Comedy Specials u can find on utube and Netflix (Yeah, I hadnt have much of a Life for the last 8 years due to severe illness).

Let me Tell you, I am Just speechless. This is Not as much of a Comedy Special but a philosophical monologue about society, the human condition an Life itself. Sounds... Boring? Contrived? Well I think it is still funny in many places. But it also is just Something I think everyone should watch. It feels real in a world where so many ppl dont even recognize what they truly believe and speak Out (social Media frenzy Style) Just to feel Heard, Just to feel Like they exsist becuz there words are on the almighty internet). Maybe I am melancholic today, but the show left me in a state of awe.

I recommend watching to anyone and everyone.

Take care folks

Much more then comedy
murkas-899-2025929 August 2019
I really liked it, the dance between real depth and critical thinking to just kidding around. A sort of genius I think he is, but then I also have similar ideas about the state of the world.
