During the fight between River and Xiomara the narrator shouts "jump over that shark!" This is a very silly reference to Jumping the Shark, which is an expression referring to when a tv show unsuccessfully attempts an over the top gimmick in an attempt to boost ratings and stay relevant, usually after it's been on the air for some time. There's no reason to worry about this show Jumping the Shark, given that 1) this show has routinely relied on over the top gimmicks as part of its premise, 2) this was the show's final season, and 3) Xiomara was actually jumping over a shark.
In the opening title, "Virgin" is struck out and replaced with "Granddaughter of the Wife of the Man of the House" to form "Jane the Granddaughter of the Wife of the Man of the House"
In to his episode, Petra mentions that she's going to call Judge Judy at 11pm to which Jane tells her she can't do that because it's so late. Petra says "of course I can!" As if she is close with Judge Judy. Judge Judy has made VERY public statements about how she doesn't EVER answer her phone after 9pm. Not even from her own children or grandchildren. So Jane was correct. Judge Judy normally lives on the East Coast (New York and Florida) but she does have a place in California, where her show is filmed. So it is possible Petra could've called her at 11pm Eastern which would've been 8pm Pacific, assuming Judge Judy was in her California residence.
