- Sibyl attempts to get the location of Fitz from Jemma's memories. Meanwhile, the SHIELD team attempts to stop Nathaniel's plans for anarchy and the Chronicoms' attempts to rewrite history.
- With their backs against the wall and Nathaniel and Sibyl edging ever closer to eliminating S.H.I.E.L.D. from the history books, the agents must rely on their strengths to outsmart and outlast the Chronicoms. This is their most important fight, and it will take the help of friends and teammates, past and present, to survive.
- On the Quinjet in space, Mac, Daisy, and Daniel watch as the Chronicom Hunter ships fire on the SHIELD bases on Earth. Daisy figures the hunters haven't seen them yet, and Mac prepares to dock the Quinjet with the Zephyr. Daniel what happens when they do, and Mac tells him that they need to focus on one problem at a time.
Mac and Daisy manage to dock the Quinjet with the Zephyr, and a Hunter ship pull the Zephyr into its docking bay with a tractor beam. The trio grab guns and go to the cargo bay doors, and Mac finally opens the doors when no one breaks in. There's no one there, and the trio board the Zephyr. They find the mercenary that Nathaniel killed, but no one else aboard the Zephyr.
Nathaniel and his team take Jemma and Deke to a cell, and Nathaniel says that it's their last chance to give up Fitz's location. A hologram of Sibyl appears and says that they have a more precise means of procuring information, and one of the Hunters with them gives Jemma an injection before shoving her into a cell with Deke.
The team led by Nathaniel go to the chamber where Sibyl is waiting in her new humanoid body. She says that all SHIEL targets have been destroyed except for the Lighthouse, and says that their plans to assault the impenetrable Lighthouse using Garrett's new teleport ability don't matter if Fitz is alive. She says that the injection they gave Jemma will dissolve her implant, and learn the truth of whether she has forgotten Fitz or the implant is masking the truth.
In the Lighthouse, Coulson, Melinda, and Yo-Yo realize that every SHIELD base is gone. Melinda reels with the empathic shock of the deaths, and Coulson figures Sibyl has other plans for the Lighthouse since she knows it would survive a conventional assault. Alarms go off and Coulson tells his teammates to implement lockdown protocols while he figures out what's going on.
Nathaniel and Kora walk off, and Kora asks Nathaniel why he didn't tells her he was working with the Chronicoms. He says that they're working for them and it's part of his plans. Kora asks if killing Jiaying was part of his plan, and he says that he did it for Kora. Since Kora is a good person, she doesn't see the evil in others and wouldn't have asked him to kill her mother. Nathaniel claims that Jiaying regretted that Kora was even born, and she needed to be put down, He says that he's there to set Kora free and to show her how powerful she can be. Kora says that it was terrible seeing her mother's body, and Nathaniel hugs Kora and says that he's making sure the body is buried along with everyone who tried to hurt Kora.
Garrett teleports into the Lighthouse and attaches a device to the wall.
In the cell, Deke looks for a way out and reminds Jemma of Fitz. She vaguely remembers Fitz's name and Deke impersonates Fitz to try to restore his grandmother's memories of her husband. He figures that the injection is dissolving the implant to restore Jemma's memories of Fitz because she has a secret, and Jemma remembers that she does have a secret. Deke tells Jemma that he has her and she should rest.
The team on the Zephyr confirm how many Chronicoms are on the Hunter ship using the scanners. Daisy finds Jemma and Deke using heat sensors, and Kora as well. She says that she'll infiltrate the ship and bring their teammates back, and Mac says that he'll figure out a way to get the hangar doors open with Daniel's help.
As Daisy goes, Daniel kisses her and she kisses him back. He says that he didn't know he was going to do it, and Daisy tells him that she's glad he did. Once Daisy leaves, Mac tells Daniel that he was impressive.
Melinda figures that Garrett is in the Lighthouse, seeing him plant the devices throughout the base. Coulson realizes the devices are Chronibombs, and goes back to looking at the flash drive with the information that let them trap Gordon in the old timeline, and needs Yo-Yo's help to place the panels.
Sibyl finds Daisy and communicates with her via hologram, asking if Daisy thought she could sneak onto one of the Chronicom ships undetected. She also communicates with Mac on the Zephyr, and tells both SHIELD agents that she didn't see them coming because their presence is meaningless. Daisy destroys the hologram projector and continues on
Nathaniel tells Sibyl that they should kill the agents now. Sibyl sends Hunters to take care of Mac and Daniel, and tells Nathaniel not to interfere with Daisy. She calculates that the odds of finding Fitz are 11% higher if they let Daisy reunite with Jemma, and tells Nathaniel to be patient.
Mac figures that they haven't come so far to be defeated, and Daniel says that Sibyl must be lying about the destruction of SHIELD. He figures they need to get back to the Lighthouse and regroup, but they have to wait so Daisy and the others have a means of escape. Mac says that they should make some noise, and opens fire on the hangar doors to blast them open. The blast guns are ineffective.
Nathaniel tells Kora that there's no end to what Daisy is willing to destroy. He says that they're more powerful than Daisy, and says that once SHIELD is gone they'll be able to take over the planet. Nathaniel insists that they're the good guys, and they need to finish Daisy off because she's the only one who can stop them.
Coulson paints a red X on the floor in a hallway, to mark where they need to get Garrett. Melinda is with Coulson and looks at the equipment Fitz designed to trap a teleporter. Coulson admits that he doesn't think of himself as just tech, and tells Melinda that he's still getting used to the idea of his new LMD body. Melinda says that they're not the same people they were, and wonders if they change the timelines or they change them. Melinda wonders how she became the person she is now, and Coulson tells her that he doesn't know but he likes the "new" Melinda and the "new" himself as well.
Garett teleports in to plant another Chronibomb on top of the X, and sees Coulson and Melinda. Coulson says that he calculated based on the base's structural integrity that Garrett would teleport there to plant a bomb, and Yo-Yo plants an anti-teleport device at superspeed on Garrett. He discovers that he can't teleport, and collapses in pain. Coulson orders him to tell them how to deactivate the bombs, and Garrett says that he can't. Garrett confirms that he has already planted a dozen bombs, and Coulson tells Garrett to call it off unless he wants to die with them.
Nathaniel gets Garrett's call, and Garrett asks him to deactivate the bombs. His superior refuses, and Garett tells him that he needs ten more minutes. Nathaniel thanks Garrett for his service and hangs up, and Yo-Yo speeds away as the bombs go off, as Coulson shields Melinda with his body.
After the debris settles, Yo-Yo returns and calls to her teammates. Coulson calls to her, and Yo-Yo digs them out. Melinda is okay thanks to Coulson shielding her, and Yo-Yo says that she moved all the bombs to one place hoping the structure wouldn't collapse. Garrett is still alive as well, but has lost a hang. Coulson says that they need to stop the bleeding because Garrett is their best chance of saving the others in space.
As Mac rigs a small device, a Hunter squad of six boards the Zephyr. The leader says that they're there to take their faces, and Mac releases the device. It releases a blast of energy that knocks out the Hunters. Mac admits that it's the only such device he has, picks up a Hunter gun, and says that they only have to hold off the Hunters long enough for Daisy to get back with Jemma and Deke.
Two Hunters walk past Daisy, ignoring her.
Coulson brings the Lighthouse power back up while Melinda tends to Garrett. Yo-Yo speeds back in, clutching at her injured right arm. She says that it was dark and she speared herself with a piece of rebar, and has determined their trapped in the Lighthouse. Garett wakes up, complaining about Nathaniel betraying him. Coulson tells him that it's not too light to be on the right side of history, and Garrett agrees to help then, Coulson hears a pattern in the sounds coming over the communication gear.
Daisy blasts into the cell, hugs Deke, and says that they have to go. He says that he injected something in Jemma to block her memories, and says that what she remembers of the team comes and goes. Jemma doesn't remember Daisy, and asks if she can have a costume like Daisy is wearing. Daisy and Deke both tell her that she can if she follows them, and they leave.
As they head for the Zephyr, Daisy tells Deke that nobody stopped her trying to get there. Jemma wonders if it's the secret time, and Daisy tells her that everything has to be kept a secret.
Sibyl has confirmed that the implant has been dissolved, and tells Sibyl that the truth will pour out of Jemma and they'll have Fitz's location. She assures Nathaniel that the Zephyr doesn't have the power to escape, and they'll kill them as Nathaniel wishes.
On the Zephyr, Mac says that Deke rigged the shells with an EMP charge so that a single shot will drop a Hunter. Daniel figures they can turn the six Hunters into a bomb, and cuts one open.
More Hunters pass Daisy, Deke, and Jemma, ignoring them. Jemma remembers being married but not who she married. Sibyl is surveilling them, as Jemma starts to remember Fitz. Kora confronts them, and Sibyl sees her as well and tells Nathaniel.
Kora greets Daisy, her sister, and Daisy says that they should get off the ship and talk. She admits that it was a mistake that she didn't tell Kora their mother was dead, and she was trying to protect Kora. Kora insists that she doesn't need protection, and blasts Daisy. Daisy blocks the radiation with her own powers, and tells Deke to get Jemma back to the Zephyr without her.
When Kora insists that Jiaying was a monster, Daisy says that Kora doesn't believe that. She says that she believes Jiaying loved Kora more than anything, and was afraid of failing Kora. Kora doesn't believe her sister and blasts her, and Daisy repels the blast but says that she isn't going to user her power offensively to hurt Kora. Daisy says that Kora's call to make, and says that she didn't know she had a sister in her timeline or even a mother until it was too late. She insists that she wasn't better off in ignorance, and Jiaying had her out of love and grief over losing Kora. Daisy asks Kora to come with her, and Kora says that it's too late because SHIELD is destroyed and they've won.
Kora says that she and Nathaniel will rule over everyone, and Daisy asks if that's what Kora wants or what Nathaniel wants. Daisy asks Kora if she'll help her restore the timeline.
Coulson tells the others that the signal is an 084--an object of unknown potential--and the signal came from SHIELD. When Coulson points out that they're trapped, Garrett says that he can get them out if they remove the device. Coulson tells his teammate that they don't have any other options.
Mac and Daniel rig up the Hunters as a massive bomb, wired to the Gravitonium and the time jump drives. Deke and Jemma arrive, and Deke says that Daisy is dealing with Kora. Jemma remembers the Zephyr as home, and Deke wonders what the plan is. Daniel starts to go for Daisy, and Mac tells him to stand down and find him some duct tape.
Sibyl, Nathaniel, and the Hunters go to stop Kora, and Sibyl blames Nathaniel for the situation. They find Koa, alone, and she says that she doesn't think Daisy is bad. She tells Nathaniel that she couldn't kill Daisy, and apologizes. Nathaniel stuns her with a blaster and tells his aide, Kimball, to lock Kora up. He then tells Sibyl that they need to consult her Time Stream again.
Daisy arrives at the Zephyr, and Deke tells her that Mac and Daniel are still working on a plan. He calls up on the intercom to the others that Daisy is on board, and Mac fires two missiles with the Hunters strapped to them at the hangar doors. The extra power blasts through the doors, and Mac flies the Zephyr out into space.
Garrett teleports the others to the source of the 084, the bar, and one of a group of agents immediately shoot Garrett dead. The leader orders the others to put their hands behind their heads, and they do so. Coulson introduces himself and say that they received an 084, and figures the agents came there tracing the same code. The SHIED agents lower their guns and the leader introduces himself as Brandon Gamble. He explains that he was stationed at the Hub, and Agent Victoria Hang, the shooter, is with him. Victoria wonder s if she just killed one of their own, and Melinda assures her that Garrett was a double agent.
Gamble wonders what they were supposed to do with the packages they were told to bring. They belonged to the various agents, and some have been in their families for decades and came from the SSR. Gamble says that he was raised to guard his satchel with his life, and if the signal came he was supposed to deliver it as instructed. He doesn't know what was inside.
The agents open the packages and find various devices inside. They were manufactured in a variety of times, and the Zephyr team come in. Coulson tells the SHIELD agents that they're part of his team, and Mac and Yo-Yo hug. Daisy hugs Coulson, and then Melinda impulsively handles Daisy. Jemma doesn't recognize anyone there, and Daisy explains that the Chronicoms did something to Jemma's memory.
Mac warns that the Chronicoms are coming, and Jemma goes to the devices. She mutters about "holy matrimony" and assembles the items into one piece. Jemma says that they're missing something, just as an old man comes in and apologizes for arriving late. He has the missing piece, and says it was given to him by Enoch or Koenig.
Coulson suggests that Enoch deposited them over the decades and Jemma takes the tuning fork that is the last item and puts it in the assembled device. A secret door opens, revealing another device, and Jemma says that it's the end or the beginning. Jemma takes the assembled device inside and puts it in the slot it's intended for. Nothing happens, and Daisy tells Jemma that she's the key and tells her to think. Jemma remembers that the team was at her wedding to Fitz, and takes off her wedding ring. She puts it into the device, and it activates, firing a beam through a portal in the ceiling and into the sky. A masked figure appears, and removes his mask to reveal that he's Fitz.
Fitz greets Jemma by name and says that it worked. She tells him to stay away, still not remembering him. Fitz curses as he realizes that what happened.
On the bridge of the Chronicom ship, Nathaniel asks Sibyl if she can tell where Daisy went. Sibyl reports that there's a new statistical anomaly in New York City: a massive power drain. Nathaniel knows that SHIELD has a safehouse there, and asks Sibyl to assign him some Hunters so they can finish off SHIELD before the invasion. Sibyl tells him that there's less than a 22% chance of him succeeding, but there's a 100% chance that it's the last time the SHIELD team will be together. She figures that the end is at hand.
