It delivers what you should want and expect.
halkatla-626695 August 2019
I´m giving this 5 stars because I find it underrated, however, it´s only because it´s so bad it´s great! I got thrills from the bad writing and chills from the bad acting. Someone went above and beyond to make this movie absolutely ridiculous (but everyone looks beautiful and the lighting and camera work is top notch). It´s about a woman who gets accused, arrested and prosecuted for killing her husband without any evidence, motive or investigation. And she´s supposed to be a former attorney/d.a who hasn´t worked in 10 years (Annalynne looks much too young for this to be possible) and has forgotten, along with all the other characters in the movie, how the law regarding everything works. It´s all pretty funny but it´s also scary if the people who made it were trying to be serious. But for the lifetime fan who knows all the cliches and expects to be entertained by something other than great and thrilling film-making, this is the perfect little gem. The ending (or last half hour more like) will make you cringe beyond anything you could imagine (don´t judge, some of us are into that).

Solid Movie Ruined By The Ending
aprilsfriendorin28 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie actually wasn't bad until the ending. It presents itself as a mystery (who killed the husband?) and evolves into a thriller (a woman attempts to escape prison) while keeping the mystery at its core (her motivation is to solve the mystery). It's also self-aware, adding in a layer of comedy- it acknowledges its own ridiculousness (the sort of ridiculousness that you'd find in any Lifetime movie, such as the unbelievable ease in which some things are accomplished). I'm not saying it was a good movie in general, but by Lifetime standards this one could've gotten the Oscar... Until the ending. The ending just ruined the entire movie by making everything a waste. A good mystery has clues woven throughout, and the ending is satisfying because it's someone from the movie. However, in this, the culprits were random characters that had no role at all until the end. There was some attempt at a plot twist, but it just could not redeem the movie. Thus, what could've actually been a solid film is completely ruined by a terrible, unfulfilling, and quite frankly lazy ending.

Really BAD!!!
LiveLoveLead30 July 2019
OK, so I wasn't expecting too much because it's a Lifetime Movie (although a few of them are getting better) but this was super low budget and very poorly done. Unoriginal, unrealistic, bad writing, camera work and directing, with tons of plot holes and implausible scenes, but to make matters worse... super bad acting... In My Humble Opinion 7/2019

Really Bad !!!!!
carolynocean9 February 2021
You know when someone tells you that a movie is bad and you don't believe them ?.........Believe them !!!

This film honestly is dire , one of the worst I have ever seen .

I suffered through to the end , just to see how ridiculous the end would be , and guess what ?

I was not disappointed!

Incessant music throughout just added to the pain (or should I say NIGHTMARE).

So , dont say that you have not been warned if you decide to watch this unbelievably BAD movie .

Trust me , it's BAD !!

Note how many times I used the word BAD !!

OMG

The absolute WORST Lifetime I've ever seen. I've never left a review for LT before (and they can be pretty bad) but I just had to do this. Liz was painful to watch - some of the worst acting ever. And it was hard to stop staring at the puffed up lips and mouth gestures. And the Dad was nearly as bad. This is, of course, is not to mention the horrible, inconceivable plot line.

"Movie Nightmare" is the real title.
tomfsloan7 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Anniversary Nightmare, or whatever title, started out bad and only got worse. Downhill all the way. Some movies are bad, and some are BAD. Entertaining only to see how bad it is. The courtroom scene with the judge should have been in The 3 Stooges. Weak plot with a ridiculous prison segment and her instant prison best friends. Her escape was so simple, it was insulting. The plot twist was no huge surprise. Dumb climactic ending to match the dumb "happy" ending. If given a choice, choose another movie. Any other movie.

It's awful and nothing about it is remotely believable. Annalynne's acting is amusing because she's basically Naomi in everything but that's not necessarily a negative on Lifetime. However, it's a negative here. So much overacting and it's hard to take her seriously. I didn't buy her as the mom of those kids and the way the movie played out, I don't get why they were there.

As for the plot, it just gets more and more absurd as the movie progresses. It actually started off promising when she wakes up and finds Andrew gone and there is some suspense that builds as she realizes something isn't right. But after that, nothing makes sense. I imagined that the writers sat around the table, tossing a ball and whoever caught it had to add onto the plot with the most absurd plot point. The court and jail scenes gave me extreme secondhand embarrassment for all involved, the twist pissed me off, and the ending was so anticlimactic and heavy-handed that I regretted watching it. This is not a repeat watch flick. It's just not a so bad it's good movie. In fact, repeat viewing might reveal even more stupidity. The movie was just lazily put together.

Women in Prison
lavatch23 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Liz and Andrew Thompson are celebrating their tenth anniversary in Hawaii when Liz wakes up to discover her husband has vanished. The blood on her neck makes her the number one suspect in the case. Of course, she has been framed, and "Anniversary Nightmare" (a.k.a., "Wrongfully Accused") plays out the saga of her proving her innocence.

Despite the fact that the body that was incinerated on Waikoloa Beach was clearly not that of Andrew Thompson, the police prosecute Liz. After her attorney mother raises the bail money, Liz returns to Los Angeles, where Judge Annabelle Valentini sentences her to prison without bail.

The heart and soul of the film occur within the walls of a correctional facility where Liz bonds with the women. A daring escape is made by Liz, who is assisted by the "underground." The relationships that Liz forms will be so important that the course of her life will be changed. The reunion of the women at the end was a touching scene that in fact packed more emotion than Liz's reunion with her husband.

The screenplay could have provided more details about Liz's background as an attorney that figured prominently in why her husband was kidnapped and she was framed for his murder. But the acting was uniformly excellent, especially the actress playing Liz. The film really belongs to her character and the ties that she forms with the women in orange jumpsuits.

Had to stop watching this after 15 minutes because of the background music although it really should be called foreground music as it was actually louder than the dialogue

Wish I could have turned the music off.
david_rich26 August 2019
There is some really bad acting and even worse plot lines but I did at least feel I wanted to see the whole film to see how it turned out. AnnaLynne McCord did her best with the lame script but with the annoying and overly obtrusive music she did herself no favours by being in this film.

What was that?!! Don't get me wrong, my expectations were as low as they can be, and yet, I'm speechless!

Poor screenplay, very bad acting... How can someone gives more than 1/10 for that movie? A teenager could do a better job!

Worst Movie I have Ever seen.
dmackiepi-8005416 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie really sucks. I hate the reunion of Liz and her fellow inmates at the end of this movie. Now Liz is going to get back into Law and help convicts fight the criminal system, which she says is unfair. Liz just able to escape from jail, fly to Hawaii with out I.D. and get $250,000.00 dollars from a Hawaii bank (once again with out ID) to give to her husband's kidnappers. I love how these movies always show law enforcement and Detectives as fools that can't locate evidence . Law Enforcement Officers always are unshaved or have beards. Their equipment is on backwards or hanging down on their pants. Worst LMN movie I have EVER SEEN.

Major Spoilers, In Case You Can't Bring Yourself To Finish Watching This Tripe
callahans2022 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is so hard to watch, I watched it just so you won't have to.

Villains. Well. It's not the parents (although the acting is so bad, I had to wonder). It's not the in-laws. It's not the husband. (Really, it's not.) It's not even Liz's fellow inmates. It's someone you never see (at all, in any way shape or form) until the *shocker* twist ending. And it doesn't even matter who the bad guy/s is/are, because the whole ridiculous mess is about Liz rediscovering her purpose in life. The scheme behind both the frame-up (because of course she's been framed) and the resolution is pretty stupid. The only real surprise is that her husband isn't actually dead. There, I didn't tell you who did it, merely who didn't do it. I left a tiny little unknown for those of you who will still watch this dreck simply to know the whole story.

Yikes! Such awful reviews.
Jazzie-too29 September 2019
I actually was liking it. Thought I'd give it a rating, as most Lifetime movies annoy me or feel outrageous. But this one got my interest and tugged at my heart strings. Many suspicions formed along the way. I was even thinking the parents! They wanted the kids! Then just before the last 30 minutes I went to give it my 8 star hit and saw it's 3.9 rating. Must be kidding! So instead of 8, I awaited the end and gave it a 10! Was in tears the last 3 minutes! I like SAP! Wish our real world had more SAP!

Nothing new but watchable wrongfully accused movie
phd_travel24 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Analynne looks prettier than she did in 90210.

While on a trip to Hawaii a woman's hubby is found murdered and she is the suspect. She is arrested and sent to prison. Sounds like an Ashley Judd movie?

Nice to see her relying on her parents. You want to see how she gets out. The ending is weak and unbelievable with stilted dialog.

Not a must see.

thanhhienmt21 August 2020
First time rate a movie here but I can't bear letting orther movie lovers waste 2 hours of their lives, just like I did. The only reason I tried to watch the whole movie was to see if I was unfair to it, but no, ut came out way worse than I could imagine. The highschool students can come up with better ideas than this. Seriously, don't watch it.
