Pointless
devonglide-19 March 2021
A pointless -- and at times -- annoying film. From the cover art, it's a film that looks to tip its hat as a 80's style deep woods horror film. However, the end product is nothing but a handful of half baked ideas. While I don't think gore is necessary to make a suspenseful or engaging film, I do believe at the very least you need decent set ups and payoffs. Sadly, Last Ones There is completely devoid of the latter.

No ending
mamashaybosh7 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
One of my pet peeves is when a movie suddenly stops without an actual ending. No conclusion or explanation of any kind. It feels like the movie is reaching the climax and then the credits roll. There's a lot of character development and two of the 4 guys are actually very likeable characters.

Most of the movie is the four of them just goofing off and having fun.

Honestly, they spent more time talking about stirring the beans then they spent on an ending for this movie.

It was very similar to a movie called "Don't Blink" where a group of friends go camping and disappear one by one, without any explanation ever given.

The effort was there. But far too similar to another movie. Better luck next time.

Huge waste of 72 Minutes

Actors? (Hardly) Storyline? (Really....) 4 Lads that work there way through the movie shouting and screaming. Storyline very flawed. People disappearing with no hint at the end of movie as to How, Why and believe me after half hour of watching you really wont give a damn. No explainations and no plot. The end titles just appeared and I was still waiting for some answers. This isnt scary or entertaining in any way at all. You will end up like myself, wondering why you ever bothered. The so called actors will not further there careers knocking out rubbish like this.

What was that?

I just don't get what was the whole point, it just sucks so hard that I can't believe this has been done intentionally - surely something went horribly wrong somewhere, there has to be some excuse for the lack of any intelligence. A mystery this is not - there is no suspense, no logic only some kids on a camping trip and at the end they disappear one by one without any reason.

If I could give these negative stars I would.

This is literally the worst garbage I have ever seen before. I mean it's that bad... I'm blown away that a group of adults sat down and this is the "movie" they came up with.

The most stupid, worthless waste of time!
kkmergens13 October 2021
A bunch of idiots acting like drunken 10 year olds . The end. Seriously the worst movie I've ever seen! Like a really bad '70's Disney film. Awful music throughout, horrid writing, no story. Period. Makes Ouija Shark look good by comparison! At least that movie was amusing. I want the last 86 minutes of my life back!

Ashamed to be Canadian after watching....
lizzybruck4 March 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This "movie" was just terrible. The "acting" was ridiculous as the actors seemed to think Screaming at the top of their lungs was mandatory during most of this film. I don't think there was any actual "writing" done for this film, and the script only contained a vague concept on what the "actors" should scream about or ramble endlessly on about at random locations. The camera work was hilarious at times as you literally see the camera shake as the camera man obviously walked backwards and then tripped during one shot, lol...the location was beautiful...but of course it was, it's Canada.

Now on to the "plot". Big Spoilers.

Four 20-something year old Canadian lads decide to go camping in the wilderness. They stop off at a general store along the way so one of the guys can pathetically try to flirt with a random girl selling fruit from her truck. This whole scene means nothing and has no importance to any part of the movie. After they steal some of this girls fruit and take a couple pics they are back on the road to party like 14 year olds on their first night away from home with no parental supervision. The costumes consisted of wearing mostly the same clothes for all 3 days with only a couple guys changing a shirt. Strange that they brought 2 canoes, chairs, tents, a BB gun, a guitar (which they are never seen playing), food and an endless supply of beer but forgot to pack a change of clothes.

Upon arrival they crack open their first of what seems like an Endless supply of beer (which they have hilariously had to repaint and rename the Actual beer cans, for some strange reason...most likely NO brand would want product placement in the train wreck of a film). They luckily have brought along a BB gun because taking turns shooting it and making up a pointless drinking game with pointless rules involving firing this single gun takes up the majority of the first quarter of this film. They next take their canoes out to look about the area and come across two different abandoned campsites. After stealing some beer from them (these boys love to steal), ad libbing some nonsensical garbage about where the people must have gone and then two characters having a ridiculous, long, drawn out argument on the difference between a stick and a branch they go back to their own site to drink some more. They apparently went fishing at some point but decide to have a dinner that consisted of onions, beer, Maple syrup and beans that they cooked in a pot and just left the fish out because no one knew how to filet it. As the maple, beer, bean concoction was brewing the most annoying part of the film began as all four boys decided to half sing, all scream at eachother about beans and then do some howling. I literally had to turn the volume on my TV down during this particular screaming part because I was afraid I'd wake my neighbours.

About 15 minutes until the end of this film does the plot finally make its appearance. They boys wake up and one by one they poof out of existence with no explanation or reason whatsoever and then the film ends.

To call this "film" pointless would be an understatement.

The Only good thing about this was the scenery and they can't take credit for that.

Waste of time. Terrible attempt at movie making. I'm ashamed that this is what Canada thinks is worthy to put out into the world.

Waste of time
nfiacco1 November 2022
A complete waste of an hour and 15 mins. At almost an hour in something finally does happen but it's still as dull and annoying as the rest of the movie prior to that. It's mostly about young men bonding on a camping trip chopping rotten pieces of forest lumber, which they're not even doing properly, and howling like cowboys just because they can. The use of the term "bud" was overused. There was little effort put in this movie and it is very noticeable. There is no build-up to a suspenseful event. Bad directing. Bad writing. Mediocre acting. Don't expect much from this movie. Actually, don't expect anything. Just skip it. The scenery was nice 🤷‍♀️

Masterpiece
mnvwwft16 February 2023
I have been watching movies for years and this movie is right up there with the greatest.

The cinematography was first class, the editing superb, the 4 actors each should have been awarded golden glove awards. They were all brilliant it was impossible to fault their performance from this stellar ensemble of a cast.

The writer needs a mention here too, as it was a work of art, where you really need to watch this movie a few times to fully comprehend the brilliance and complexities of what the writer was conveying here.

If I could more start I would. Canada should should be proud, and they should consider enstating a public holiday named after this movie, and celebrate the day with public viewings of this movie on repeat.

Well down to all involved.

Possibly the worst film of all time
jacknewman-5947418 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
My father was the person who had written the review named 'Masterpiece' as his perspective was wrong.

He has just recently escaped the state mental institution and had managed to write a review based on a movie he had watched after his escape. Thankfully he is ok and is under the use of highly concentrated medication.

The film had a very bad camera resolution, casting and acting, a lack of angles and shot varieties, and a simply atrocious storyline. The majority of the film shows a group of friends who loot beer from nearby campsites and shoot BB guns.

I do not recommend this film to any people unless they are willing to suffer the psychological consequences.

Horrible
dragon_fly-3991425 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Ending unexplained-

Friends start to disappear one by one, abandon campsites from other campers, abandon boat, they never question any of it .... We don't know where they went, how they disappear etc.... Just vanished - wasn't worth the time spent watching and waiting for something to happen ... the entire movie from the time they get to their camp site is just the friends no other people ... thumbs down!

I would not recommend watching this, save your time because you won't know what happens at the end anyway... so it's just watching 4 friends camping, then three, then 2, then one .... The worst ending ever!
