A disturbing perspective from and about the Dominican Republic
www_traphil_com3 April 2020
Surely you wouldn't expect the Caribbean island of the dreams drowning in plastic. The usual expectation from the Dominican Republic are beautiful mile-long beaches, turquoise waters and laid-back people.

It feels certainly like a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the most famous US-tourism destination. Be sure, that you'll see the Dominican Republic from a different perspective after this authentic and critical documentary. But if you like this perspective - That'd be another question. It's more about 'what they usually don't want to let you see'-content of the movie.

I liked, that the directors are conducting themselves 'on site' - interviews with all stakeholders and realizing step by step, what's all running wrong in their own country and that it was finally time for someone to report about it.

However, the documentation never loses its real focus and doesn't only outline the problems, but also shows and suggests some solutions. Without being pathetic or political.
