The main setting in this film, Dunwich, is a fictional town named after the H. P. Lovecraft short story "The Dunwich Horror" (1929) and the subsequent film adaptations. Dunwich was also used as the setting for other horror films including Lucio Fulci's 'City of the Living Dead' (1980). In that film the people of Dunwich are said to be descended from "Salem witch burners".
Body Count: 20.
There a couple of references to "Halloween" (1978). Mentioned is the town of Haddonfield (Where Michael Myers lives) and the way Halloween Jack tends to tilt his head after a kill similar to Michael Myers. Also mentioned is the quote "It's Halloween; everyone's entitled to one good scare".
In addition to Haddonfield (and numerous other Halloween franchise references), Antonio Bay is also mentioned, which is the setting of John Carpenter's The Fog (1980).
Filmed on location in Swansea and Laugharne, South West Wales.
