Flimsy

The first two episodes seemed to go nowhere, splitting the plot into Pete's family misfortunes and Pete/Marius planning a big con with ex-partner Lizzie out of boredom.

Unfortunately neither plot is exciting and joining them through Julia is a bad move. Julia is with Carly my least favorite character. It looks like she never change clothes, yet she's always perfectly coiffed. She takes one bad decision after the other, she has no professional skills and and seems hardly able to take care of her two children, yet she's somehow presented as smarter than con man Marius. Nothing in Julia's life proves she's smart (she's an unskilled worker and single mother of two from two different absent fathers, she's going to be prosecuted for major crimes and she lost her family big money) and yet we have to buy her as Miss Smarty Pants.

The Carly plot is silly just like her character.

Finally, even Marius con seems hardly exciting and his "partner" Lizzie is unsympathetic and very suspicious. She's constantly moaning about Michigan and it looks like she hired a bunch of guys to con Marius as a revenge, forcing him to find 400,000$ he will deliver just because she needs the cash...
