This is what happens when you decide to let your actors make up their own dialog as they go along. In other words, improv gone horribly wrong.

Stopped watching at the beginning
cordelialeite10 October 2020
The main feeling here is boredom...it was 11 minutes or so and I thought the movie was in 40 minutes mark. How about the dialogues? Pfft. "Oh, I thought you were joking because you were 10 years younger babe." Backwards thinking for sure. And the ugly sausage breakfast scene did not escape my eyes. Try to use better looking food, this type of detail counts. PS.: I don't remember the dialogue exact words, but you get the idea.

Erase This From Your Memory
andrewrye-0653513 October 2019
I just wasted an hour and a half with this dribble. I had no idea what the plot was supposed to be, the acting is up there with the worst I've seen in a while. Huge plot errors, and I didn't end up feeling anything for the characters, good or bad. No character development at all.

And I won't waste any more time on this review, I just needed to counter the obvious fake voting.

Badly written story
phd_travel14 October 2019
What was Lifetime thinking green lighting such a crudely written story. A man disappears when a plane goes down. His wife finds out the money is all gone but a large policy benefits her. Of course he's not gone. His wife It's obvious and cliched with the worst dialog in a Lifetime movie since I can't remember.

A bad joke.

Banker Barbara
LifetimeUncorkedPodcast13 October 2019
Even Banker Barbara (Academy Award Nominee, Mary Badham, who was nominated for an Oscar for her supporting role as Scout Finch in the 1962 film To Kill a Mockingbird.) can't save this movie.

If David turned out to be Boo Radley, I could have given it more stars.

Bad Timing
trinigal-6090725 November 2019
This was the first lifetime movie I ever watched that I felt the need to write a review. First off the daytime didn't match up with the nighttime scenes. On a few occasions one minute it was daytime in one scene and nighttime the next scene. For example when the house was broken into it looked like nighttime and at the same time the mom was out during the break in and it was the daytime and when the Villain got shot he escaped. The ending was horrible overall not good writing with this movie. It could have been better.

Good grief what a MESS
deedrala31 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Most LMN movies are halfway watchable, but this.....I mean, where do I even start? So this young guy is such a criminal mastermind, he can cause a plane to go down that everyone thinks he was on, because something about "they didn't have time to change the passenger manifesto"....?? And this Karen moron is his fourth wife that was just as dumb and blindly trusting as the first three because "David handled all the financial matters and he just had me sign off on them", and then THIS statement of hers to Banker Barbara: "Don't you think I'd remember taking out a six-figure loan/second mortgage??" Uhm, no, since you JUST SAID you signed off on all the papers he handed you without even so much as glancing at them. That's just one of the many ways this mess of a movie insults viewers' intelligence. And she's incredibly stupid enough to fold in pieces of paper cut the same size as the hundred dollar bills and held together with one little rubber band, thinking it will fool him into believing they're all bundles of real bills?? So of course it didn't take him even one whole minute to figure it out, and it made him angrier and more impatient and potentially endangered her daughter's life that much more. I can't waste any more time on this - suffice to say this is one of Lifetime's very worst movies and is best avoided by all. The actors and director et al, should be ashamed to cash their paychecks for this shameful convoluted mess.

A Sly Dog Named David Miller
lavatch24 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
At the start of the film, it appears as if Karen and David Miller have an idyllic relationship. After her first husband Jeff died in an auto wreck when she was at the wheel, Karen has found marital bliss in David, who is a doting father to Karen's young daughter Annie. But there is trouble in paradise after David apparently dies in a plane crash and all of Karen's bank accounts are emptied.

Karen is very slow in accepting the reality that she has been played for a sucker by David. Before Karen, there was Amy, Danica, and Jessica--all women whom David married, then disappeared after robbing them blind.

When David returns from the dead and kidnaps Annie, he demands that Karen bring him a significant amount of cash. Karen panics and commits bank fraud. My favorite character is the banker, Barbara Waldron, who is constantly delivering bad news to Karen about her dwindling assets and staggering debts. Then, Barbara is forced to call the police after Karen tries to move assets into her account using Barbara's computer.

"Erasing the Past" was a by-the-numbers thriller without much suspense once David returns. While he has some of the best lines in the film, the overall effect is lackluster. As a villain, David was not very astute in "losing" the account numbers that he needed to collect his loot. At the start of the film, it appeared as though he had everything imaginable in a such beautiful, loving family. Why would anyone want to give that up?

Insulting to Lifetime watchers
SinnaMGrrl6 December 2019
Hey, we lifetime lovers like "bad" movies. There's always an element of tongue in cheek, but they are still enjoyable and somewhat surprizing!

THIS, however, is just a pile of poop. I mean I get that not everybody is all that bright but Karen is incredibly stupid, nobody is that naïve and ignorant . The acting is terrible the editing is terrible....i hope Lifetime pulls this garbage and never lets it see the light of day... Or night depending on the minute of the scene...again.

They should have called it "Kill The S.O.B Already"
mja5818 November 2021
In my opinion, The husband in this movie was the most repulsive character I've seen in the LMN movie stable... YIKES!

The movie held my interest, and the characters were developed enough that you believed what was going on. But again, this is in the "Lifetime Universe" were near fantasy prevails.

The ending suggested a sequel may be in the works, but LMN, please don't!!

Have a drink handy and have some fun.....

6/10.

Pretty funny movie
swalnosaj24 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This is the first time I've ever written a review for a LMN movie. I'm a member of the club and have watched hundreds. This is the poorest one. Her daughter was abducted by her dead husband who returns and the guy who is her friend was talking to her and said "do you think he'd hurt her?" And made the weirdest face which made me snort my sweet tea out of my nose. I laughed out loud numerous times at the complete lunacy of this movie. So awful that it was actually laugh out loud hilarious. So maybe it wasn't bad if you look at it as a comedy.

I Should Have Listened To The Other Reviewers !
carolynocean23 July 2021
Don't ignore good advice.... Do Not Watch This !!

This movie is so rubbish, stupid storyline and bad script , delivered by bad actors.

The husband Dave , did he take classes in HOW to SHOUT! ? I wanted to turn it off but, thought that I should really see it through, and suffer like everyone else here.

At least I can write this stinker of a review , and feel justified !

Lame
tamrbrwn-5964731 October 2022
Warning: Spoilers
There's way to much to say about how wrong this movie went and how bad the directing and acting was I don't want to believe they directed the actors to be this lame and stupid If this is the kind of garbage they are going to keep making they should stop making lifetime movies and shut this channel down the wife not knowing about anything going on with her finances is not real a bank can't transfer that much money without speaking to or seeing someone the daughet going with this lame murderer killer is beyond stupid not telling the police from the beginning was stupid because we all know he's going to kill any witnesses not following his car when he goes back to where her daughter is was just ridiculous when the daughter gets out the trunk she doesn't creep out she let's the hood go wayyyyyyy up in the sky to be seen by the silly mom that's gives her escape away then they run in the house and leaves the door wide open to let him run in and then the end when she shoots him and leaves him there alone ti wait ti get away easily because this movie shows us all she was a easy target to do whatever to I literally fast forward this movie why wills any actor do these knowing how bad it's going to turn out I think it's odd that the people on these lifetime movies never have any families or real friends it's just them and the villain I have to go and watch some real movies with real actors to get over what I just saw.when you see a preview you think wow that may actually be good ....... I would like to know what insurance company that was for them to even consider a payoff off 3 million in days is great they should have advertised their number I think people should watch so they will know how bad they are getting in making these movies and we deserve better.

So many unanswered questions.
CranberriAppl7 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I was initially intrigued by the events and was proud of Lifetime because they weren't dragging out the "main" plot. Events were happening quickly and that kept me watching. Then it fell apart. Lately these assembly line Lifetime movies seem to start out with a murder that they don't always make sure is connected to the events. And the ending showed that first victim SPOILER SPOILER >>>>>>>>>> SPOILER>>>>>> didn't get justice.

David and Karen seemed very mismatched. He seemed a bit young for her and for the other women in his life. When David's plane crashes....where's his family? Friends? Colleagues? Anyway, Karen quickly finds out that her finances are a mess. Her husband had taken out a mortgage on her home which she'd paid off. She owes almost $80k for two months (really? And yes I rewound it to read the sticky). All of HER retirement accounts are empty and so is Annie's college fund. It makes ZERO sense why a "mature" woman with a near-college age daughter would turn her finances over to her new husband. Shouldn't she be less naive at this stage of life? All of these things, plus a$3m life insurance policy on David have her spidey senses rankled and she's realizing he wasn't who he said. Someone breaks into the home but is only looking for something...not stealing. It seems to be night time while Annie is terrorized, but still early afternoon while Karen is out and about.

Skipping ahead...an alive David reveals himself to Annie on her way to school. FOR A HOT SECOND, I had two thoughts: the first was that Lifetime was pulling a switcharoo and David wasn't the villain. I was like "OK, this is unexpected and not predictable so let's watch closely." My second thought was he's evil and is going to spend the movie using the daughter to break the mom down. NEITHER happened. Went to straight kidnapping and extortion. Thanks for sticking to what you do, Lifetime. Anyway, she goes to the bank to get David's ransom money and she gets Scout to leave her bank office and she initiates the slowest and most anti climatic illegal transfer ever. Scout discovers what happens, makes a call saying "there is a situation." Almost the exact scene happens again when the detective who is suspicious of her comes to the door and wants to come in. She doesn't let him in and escapes via the back door. He calls for an apb on her car...all the while sounding like he's dirty too. So at this point, after these two scenes, I'm bracing for some sort of conspiracy to materialize. Everything happens as predictably as possible.

He eventually shows her Annie and starts his villain confession....none of it makes sense or justifies this movie. She misses opportunities while he's filibustering to try to get away from him. Annie somehow manages to get out of the trunk and like a good girl she hits him with a shovel. But like someone who has NEVER seen movies in this genre, she doesn't hit him again! I was hoping after she hit him that he'd hit his head on the car bumper, but nope he's awake and goes into the house after them. WHY did they go into the house and leave the door open?! Also, did I miss them calling for help?? Not a neighbor or the police. Just ridiculous. Anyway, his villainy continues and Neil (her friend and future bae clearly) comes and gets one punch in before the much smaller and less buff David knocks him out (SMH). Whats her face grabs his gun and ends up shooting him in the stomach. They skip six months later (all Lifetime movies do this now) and they're all happy and freakin David is watching them from his car. From his phone convo, he's married again. OK, WTF! First off, I was disappointed that both Scout and the detective were red herrings. Lifetime missed an opportunity to make them David's adopted parents or aunt and uncle or something who were in on it with him. Second, another reviewer mentioned that when the detective went to the crime scene David's "body" was gone. WTF again! So with a surrounded house and a gunshot wound, he manages to escape? No quick scene of a traumatized Karen and Annie asking for confirmation that he was dead.

Completely ridiculous. I haven't watched LT in a couple of months (been digging HM's Christmas in July, no shame) so this one looked a little interesting. Total letdown and I wouldn't watch it again.

To many continuity errors.
MyPointOfView12330 April 2020
I enjoyed the story line but the script supervisor continuity was a disaster! 👎 I found myself laughing at the undeniable continuity mistakes.
