- Osama Bin Hiding is a playful coming-of-age story about two best friends spending their last playful summer together. When Matt and Aditya's drone is knocked from the sky by their new playful neighbour, the young boys jump to the most [un]likely conclusion - that Osama Bin Laden is not dead, and is in fact living secretly on their street.
- We open amongst the back gardens and footpaths of a working-class suburban town. Here we meet Matt and Aditya as they fool around with a drone 'borrowed' from Aditya's father.
As they desperately try to spy on a school mate, their drone is knocked from the sky by an unknown neighbour. When the two boys scrutinise the footage - a distorted freeze-frame of an Arab man with some facial similarities to Osama Bin Laden - Matt immediately jumps to the most unlikely conclusion; their new neighbour is the dead terrorist.
After a bodged break in attempt to recover the drone and retrieve its SD card, the two boys recruit Aditya's older sister Myra. Myra is part of a fledgling hacker network known as 'Synonymous'. They analyse the boy's image and concur that the new neighbour's similarities to Osama Bin Laden are strong. After discovering that Osama Bin Laden was known as the Ace of Spades on the FBI's most wanted list, the gang decided to execute a daring night-time raid on their new neighbour's house.
Rigged with make-shift night vision cameras we witness Matt and Aditya as they carry out their Jason-Bourne-like raid. The footage is streamed live to Myra's computer screen and it is here that we watch her as she directs the boys through the dark house.
Just when it seems that the drone and its conclusive evidence will be retrieved, the lights are turned on and the new neighbour grabs Aditya. Matt makes a narrow escape as Myra and her hacker squad alert the police. Myra rushes down the street, arriving outside the house as the police pull up. Matt and Myra are contained in a police car as the officers knock on the door. Eventually the door is opened and Aditya is brought out to join them.
Aditya climbs in the back of the police car with a slice of cake in hand. He explains that their new neighbour isn't Osama Bin Laden, but he is a good cake baker.
The following day Matt, Myra and Aditya are sent back to their neighbour's house to apologise, Aditya with a freshly baked cake in hand. But when they reach the front door it swings loosely on its hinges.
Creeping inside the children find that the house has been emptied. Nothing of their mysterious neighbour remains - save for a playing card on the coffee table in the centre of the living room. It is the Ace of Spades; the calling card of Osama Bin Laden. As the credits roll, we discover the global sensations our heroes have become.
