  • The film has a very dark undertone, and would be too much for younger viewers.

  • One use of 'fuck'.

  • A major plot point of the film regards the gradual deterioration of an older woman suffering from dementia. This film could be particularly emotional and difficult to watch for those familiar with the effects of dementia.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Violence & Gore

  • An older woman picks at her own rotting face with a knife.
  • Throughout the film, an older woman is shown to be progressively rotting, with a black mould-like substance seen to be gradually growing over her entire body.
  • There is a scene involving a younger woman helping an older woman peel away her flesh to reveal the rotting underneath. The scene is neither bloody nor excessive, and is meant to be viewed as a poetic and tender moment, but could still be seen as somewhat disturbing and gory.
  • A few times in the movie a rotting corpse is shown. Tendons are shown in the arms.
  • A woman is seen stabbing her own face then breaking her leg with the bone protruding out before snapping it back in.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There are several dream sequences in which a cabin is shown decaying with black mould, and there are also brief shots of a rotting corpse.
  • There is a scene toward the end in which the older woman contorts herself, and the bones in her legs break as she walks. She then crawls towards the protagonists, wielding a knife.
