Day 1

The blue jumper that Gracie, the youngest daughter, wears in the first episode strongly resembles the dress that Ruby Bridges wore on her first day of school. Likewise, Gracie's older sister is named Ruby and is ostracized on her own first day at the local school.

Several of the radios that the women have on the tables in the street are obviously table models that would need to be plugged in to function.
