The working production title of the film was S.O.S. using the hashtag #SOSMovie2018 for the development and production of the film.
The name Michael Kochigan was actually inspired by a line in the Orange Hat Film Productions mini-series Look What You Have Become. In episode 5 of season 2, Vanna is told about Victor's side job selling cocaine. The exact quote is "Was it coke again? F*****g coke AGAIN?" The line gained popularity and double meaning in the editing room. Coke-Again/Kochigan soon became a running joke that stuck around until development of .44 where Officer Michael Kochigan really took shape.
Tad Brock convinced the director to play multiple roles in the film other than Officer Michael Kochigan, he also played the roles of a thug named Chad, a bartender named Brad, and the dad from his own flashback scene.
In the wide shot of the first couple driving away from the movie theatre, there is a billboard in the background. On that billboard is an advertisement for an upcoming Auteur Independent Films and OHFP project entitled "Vent."
Between takes in Taylor Bogaert's torture sequence, he was comforted by Tad Brock's West Highland Terrier, Penny.
