Jaden Smith had a successful career as a child artist. He ventured into acting, rapping, skateboarding, and even business ventures during this time. After his success in Jackie Chan’s The Karate Kid film, he appeared in several music videos. In the music video of Pumped Up Kicks (Like Me), it wasn’t just his rapping skills on display but also his skateboarding skills.

However, Smith is not particularly happy as he regretted his rap a couple of years later. He shared that it didn’t come out the way he wanted it to be. Interestingly, by this time in his career, Smith had already made his high-profile collaboration alongside Justin Bieber.

“Summer” is a hazy ode to the hedonistic joys that always accompany the hottest, laziest months of the year. “I pop a pill and then we fuck until we slumber,” Jaden croons on the hook, “And now my handprint on your ass because you’re sunburnt.”

Jaden Smith swims and lazes on the beach in the new video for “Photograph.”
Shot in New Providence, Bahamas, and directed by Smith himself, the video features scenes of Smith staring at the pink sunset, closing his eyes on a float, swimming through the current, and lying facedown in the sand. He floats down to the ocean floor fully clothed, clutching a Polaroid. “Thought I might write a song,” he sings. “Hoped you might sing along.”
Last fall, Smith released “I’m Ready,” featured on the PlayStation video game Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.
